Job Description

Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, generating new business opportunities, and promoting Brax Company's core products and services within an assigned territory and customer base. This position focuses on municipal, industrial, and water/wastewater clients involving pumps, pump systems, controls, repair services, and related equipment. The Sales Representative will work closely with customers to identify operational needs, provide technical solutions, prepare quotations, and support long-term account growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with municipalities, engineers, industrial facilities, and existing customers within the assigned territory. Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking, site visits, and industry events. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate pump equipment, repair services, and system solutions. Prepare and present quotations, proposals, product presentations, and technical recommendations. Coordinate with inside sales, engineering support, service departments, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely customer support. Follow up on leads, quotations, and customer inquiries to maximize sales opportunities. Maintain regular in-person customer visits and jobsite interaction throughout the territory. Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, pricing trends, and emerging opportunities. Support marketing initiatives, trade shows, customer events, and training activities. Maintain accurate customer and sales activity records within company systems. Provide exceptional customer service and timely issue resolution. Participate in product training and ongoing industry education. Comply with all company safety policies and driving requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum five (5) years of outside sales experience in pumps, industrial equipment, water/wastewater, mechanical systems, or related industries preferred. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong business development and relationship-building skills. Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand pump systems and related equipment. Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and manage territory activity effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/sales software systems. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to read and understand technical documents, specifications, and quotations. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Ability to travel throughout assigned territory as required. Physical Requirements Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, industrial facilities, construction sites, and stairs. Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment up to 60 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb when inspecting equipment or jobsites. Ability to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods. Ability to use hands and arms for handling tools, equipment, and paperwork. Ability to read computer screens, specifications, service reports, and technical documents. Ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone. Preferred Industry Experience Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred: Pumps and rotating equipment Municipal water or wastewater systems Industrial mechanical equipment Controls and VFD systems Process equipment Construction or contractor sales Compensation and Benefits Base salary plus commission/incentive plan Base salary dependent upon experience, qualifications, and industry background Vehicle allowance or company vehicle (if applicable) Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
