Win Projects. Design Panels That Work. Integrated Component Solutions is seeking a driven, technically capable UL 508A Field Sales Engineer to help grow our industrial control panel business throughout the Tampa Bay region. This is not a desk-sales role. You will meet with manufacturers, contractors, facilities teams, and decision-makers in the field; identify control-panel and automation opportunities; develop scopes and proposals; and help design practical, code-conscious panel solutions that move into production. The right person understands that a control panel is more than a box full of components. It must meet the customer's needs, support the equipment it controls, be built efficiently, and comply with UL 508A requirements. What You Will Do Develop new business for UL 508A industrial control panels, retrofit panels, machine controls, and related automation projects. Build relationships with manufacturers, OEMs, contractors, maintenance teams, engineering firms, and industrial facilities across the Tampa Bay region. Conduct on-site customer visits to understand equipment, process needs, safety concerns, existing controls, and project constraints. Identify opportunities for new panels, panel replacements, machine retrofits, PLC upgrades, safety-control improvements, and custom automation solutions. Prepare quotes, proposals, scopes of work, bills of materials, labor estimates, and technical recommendations. Secure customer approvals and down payments to initiate awarded work. Design or assist in designing industrial control panels in accordance with UL 508A requirements, customer specifications, and ICS shop standards. Develop panel layouts, electrical schematics, component specifications, control-system architecture, and integration plans. Coordinate closely with ICS fabrication, programming, engineering, and commissioning teams from project kickoff through final delivery. Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle, keeping clients informed and resolving issues promptly. Maintain a healthy sales pipeline, document activity, forecast opportunities, and pursue follow-up consistently. Represent ICS professionally at client facilities, networking events, industry gatherings, and referral opportunities. What We Are Looking For Demonstrated outside-sales or field-sales experience in industrial automation, electrical controls, panel fabrication, machine building, electrical distribution, or a closely related technical field. Strong working knowledge of industrial control panels, electrical components, PLC systems, motor controls, safety circuits, sensors, VFDs, relays, and related automation equipment. Ability to understand customer needs and turn them into clear, practical, profitable panel solutions. Experience preparing technical quotes, proposals, bills of materials, labor estimates, and scopes of work. Ability to read and create electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, or control-system documentation. Familiarity with UL 508A panel construction requirements, labeling expectations, component selection, and industrial control-panel design practices. Proven project-management ability, including managing scope, schedule, budget, customer communication, and internal coordination. Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Self-directed work style with the ability to prioritize opportunities and solve problems without constant supervision. Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience selling or designing UL 508A industrial control panels. Experience working in or with a control-panel shop, electrical contractor, OEM, machine builder, systems integrator, or industrial automation company. PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, AutomationDirect, or similar platforms. Experience with SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical-design software. Familiarity with
NEC, NFPA 79, UL
508A, industrial machinery safety, and panel labeling requirements. Experience with control-panel retrofits, machine modernization, VFD applications, servo systems, or industrial networking. Established contacts in manufacturing, food and beverage, packaging, material handling, process industries, water and wastewater, or industrial contracting throughout Tampa Bay. Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement experience. Mechanical aptitude What We Offer Competitive base salary plus commissions and performance-based bonuses. Retirement plan with up to a 3% company match. Mileage reimbursement at the current IRS standard rate for approved business travel. Company expense account for documented business meals with clients and qualifying overnight-travel meals. A chance to own opportunities from the first customer conversation through final delivery. Direct exposure to a broad mix of industrial clients, automation challenges, and custom-engineering projects. A hands-on, low-bureaucracy environment where good ideas move quickly and your work has a visible impact. Long-term opportunity to help build and shape ICS's panel-shop and industrial automation sales operation.
