This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and delivering technical solutions that meet client needs. The ideal candidate combines strong sales acumen with technical understanding of HVAC controls, BAS, and system integration. This position requires a proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to manage projects from initial opportunity through closeout. Essential Job Functions Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, engineers, end users, and building owners Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Building Automation and Controls market Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through project closeout Review project plans and specifications to identify opportunities for BAS and controls solutions Collaborate with estimating, engineering, and operations teams to develop proposals and system solutions Prepare and present proposals, including system design concepts, scope, and pricing Provide value engineering solutions to improve project competitiveness and profitability Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate project handoff and execution Track and manage sales pipeline, forecasts, and activity within CRM system Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and competitive landscape in building automation and controls Support project execution by maintaining customer communication and resolving issues as needed Participate in client meetings, job walks, and industry events Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered 3+ years of experience in sales, HVAC, building automation, controls, or related industry Strong understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS), controls, and HVAC systems Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment Key Competencies Relationship building and customer focus Technical aptitude and problem-solving Sales strategy and business development Communication and negotiation Organization and time management
