Full Job Description Description:
The Sales Engineer serves as a key role in the engineering and sales fields, providing technical support and promoting sales of complex manufacturing products and solutions. Our customers include a wide variety of industries, with a strong focus on generator set distributors who rely on us for custom packaging solutions tailored to meet performance, environmental, and compliance requirements. This role involves understanding customer needs based on project specifications and utilizing their engineering expertise to deliver high quality products. Key Responsibilities Prepare and deliver technical quotations, proposals, and product configurations Create and provide submittals to customers including drawings, cut sheets, and supporting material Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy of custom designs and modifications Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, distributors, and internal stakeholders Support Project Manager throughout the manufacturing process to ensure on time delivery Attend product training on power systems, controls, and industry standards Build familiarity with codes, standards, and regulatory requirements in power generation Own the front-end sales engineering process from scope development through quote finalization Interpret detailed customer specifications, drawings, and jobsite conditions to propose compliant and cost-effective solutions Act as the primary technical liaison for key accounts, OEMs, and distributors Mentor junior technical sales engineers and support staff Help establish best practices for quoting, spec reviews, and hand-off to engineering/project management Manage the creation of detailed proposals, submittal packages, and technical drawings
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical/scientific fields with relevant experience 2-5 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or sales support - ideally in manufacturing, construction, power generation, or electrical systems space Deep understanding of generator systems, switchgear integration, sound attenuation, ventilation design, and steel fabrication Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence both internal teams and external client Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Excel Proven experience interpreting and working with engineering specifications, CAD drawings, and relevant codes
