Job Description

STS Technical Services is hiring a Sales Engineer to support a growing manufacturing operation in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
This role is ideal for a detail oriented and technically skilled professional who understands manufacturing processes and thrives in a fast paced production environment. The Sales Engineer will support customer relationships, identify growth opportunities, and help ensure project success from quote through delivery.
Position Overview
The Sales Engineer is responsible for managing customer relationships, supporting new business development, and helping ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires an understanding of precision machining processes, particularly in industries with high regulatory and quality requirements.

Free employee coffee Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer needs and ensure requirements are met
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's client base
Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, production, and quality control to ensure customer specifications and deadlines are met
Act as the liaison between customers and internal departments to support smooth project execution
Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients while maintaining a focus on profitability and long term partnerships
Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed sales targets
Track and analyze key sales metrics and report progress and forecasts to senior management
Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting target industries
Apply industry knowledge to anticipate customer needs and offer effective solutions
Resolve customer issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner
Maintain consistent communication and follow up throughout the project lifecycle
Travel as required to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support business development efforts Skills and Competencies Communicate and present the manufacturing process associated with complex, precision machined components
Negotiate price within established company guidelines
Analyze client data, reports, and market insights to make informed decisions
Solve complex issues and propose solutions that align with client goals
Develop long term strategies to grow client accounts and support retention
Manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously
Identify high priority tasks and allocate time effectively
Track deadlines and deliverables while ensuring timely completion of tasks
Work closely with customer service, engineering, and other departments to ensure client satisfaction
Create forecasts using knowledge of accounts and existing backlogs
Manage company expenses within guidelines
Stay organized while managing multiple complex projects and customers Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of account management or sales experience in precision machining or a related industry
Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or medical applications preferred Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of machining processes, equipment, materials, and complex part manufacturing
Familiarity with industry specific requirements such as AS9100, ITAR, and FDA regulations
Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
Prior experience with a CRM system such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or Zoho is a plus
