Business Development Manager (Applications Sales Engineer) West Region, United States | req29726 What you will enjoy doing• You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities by leveraging technical expertise and the Linde technologies portfolio Acquire and grow customers in the assigned territory through prospecting, lead generation, qualification, market strategy, business case development, proposal creation, and technology‑based pricing recommendations Drive profitable sales growth aligned with regional and national business objectives through value‑based, technical, and consultative selling Further, you will provide technical sales support and oversee project implementation and start‑up to ensure successful onboarding and customer satisfaction Analyze markets and niches including regional economic activity, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and product application opportunities Initiate and execute growth campaigns, market initiatives, and customer communication strategies to expand penetration in target industries You will monitor competitive activity and develop appropriate response strategies based on market intelligence Understand customer financial drivers, operational needs, competitive advantages, and the Linde technology portfolio to articulate value and differentiation Build and strengthen relationships with prospective customers, industry consultants, and key vendors Collaborate with internal partners including Sales, Linde Technology (LT), National Business Development, Applications Equipment, and Customer Service teams You will leverage internal resources to support sales strategies, technical solutions, and customer growth initiatives Participate in sales strategy development with business development, key account teams, and regional sales leadership Operate with minimal supervision while receiving strategic guidance from the Regional Sales Director and National Business Development Grow industrial gases and equipment sales across the West Region through technical and consultative selling Travel extensively with requirements exceeding 50% of work time What makes you great A BS degree is required, with engineering or other technical disciplines strongly preferred More than five (5+) years of experience, ideally in technical sales and within relevant industrial markets You have the ability to travel over 50% as required to support customers, projects, and regional initiatives Proven track record of acquiring and growing customer base, being resilient, and driving results Why you will love working with us Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2025 sales of $34 billion.
