Director of Operations About Dread River Distilling Co. Dread River Distilling Co. is a Birmingham-based craft distillery producing premium spirits with a commitment to quality, innovation, and community. We are the first distillery in Birmingham to produce Bourbon in over 100 years. We are passionate about creating exceptional products while building strong relationships throughout Alabama's beverage industry. We are seeking a motivated and energetic Brand Sales Representative to help grow our presence throughout Alabama by developing new accounts, supporting existing customers, and increasing brand awareness in the marketplace. Position Summary The Brand Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth by building relationships with liquor stores, restaurants, bars, and retail accounts. This role focuses on account development, brand promotion, product education, and supporting sales initiatives that increase distribution and consumer demand. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, outgoing, organized, and passionate about the beverage industry. Essential Responsibilities Sales and Account Development
  • Develop and maintain relationships with on-premise and off-premise accounts.
  • Identify and secure new account opportunities.
  • Conduct regular sales calls and account visits throughout assigned territories.
  • Promote Dread River products to retailers, restaurants, and bars.
  • Increase product placements, menu features, and display opportunities. Brand Promotion
  • Conduct tastings and sampling events.
  • Represent Dread River at festivals, trade shows, and community events.
  • Educate customers and consumers on the Dread River portfolio.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for the Dread River brand.
  • Conduct activations at retail and on-premise partners. Account Support
  • Monitor product availability and communicate inventory needs.
  • Assist accounts with merchandising and promotional materials.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through regular follow-up.
  • Provide market feedback and competitive insights to company leadership. Reporting and Administration
  • Track sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Submit weekly activity and sales reports.
  • Assist with forecasting and planning initiatives as requested.
  • Maintain accurate customer and prospect records. Qualifications Required 21 plus years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of sales, customer service, hospitality, or related experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel throughout Alabama as needed. Q ualifications Preferred
  • Experience in beverage alcohol, beer, wine, spirits, hospitality, or food service industries.
  • Existing relationships within the Alabama hospitality or retail community.
  • Experience conducting tastings, events, or product demonstrations. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during events and tastings.
  • Ability to travel regularly within assigned territories. Compensation and Benefits
