Job Description
City Lumber/Spahn & Rose Lumber Co. currently has an opening for a Millwork Sales Representative at our location in Huntsville, AL. A Millwork Sales position involves selling custom and pre-fabricated wood products such as doors, windows, moldings, and stair parts. Responsibilities include understanding customer needs, providing product recommendations, processing orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Strong product knowledge, communication skills, and attention to detail are essential in this role. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service for walk-in and telephone call-in customers and assisting customers/contractors with identification of product needs, on-site measures and order placement. The Millwork Sales Representative's primary duty is to develop business partner relationships and grow Millwork sales at the Dubuque location.
Responsibilities:
- Communicates with clients and customers to provide a high level of customer service.
- Consults with clients to coordinate and create design projects, renovations, remodels, and new construction projects in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintains an exceptional level of expertise on products/services while staying abreast of the competitive landscape.
- Reads and interpret blueprints and take precise on-site measurements to provide accurate estimates and order entry.
- Prices/submits orders via vendor software, price lists and product literature while ensuring order accuracy.
- Assists and resolve customer requests and/or problems in a timely and professional manner.
- Secures and processes payment for merchandise sold.

- Works collaboratively with builders, sub-trades and customers as well as departments within the organization and outside vendor partners.

- Works well without close supervision but always keeps their manager informed.
- Adaptable to changing processes and priorities.
Qualifications:
- Previous millwork or building materials retail sales experience, construction background or equivalent combination of education and experience/expertise.
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
- Able to learn quickly and work independently.
- Intermediate computer literacy with ability to learn internal software programs and applications.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with individual's motor vehicle record compliance with company requirements.
