The Emergency Mitigation & Restoration Project Technician is responsible for responding to emergency losses, performing initial damage inspections, guiding homeowners through the remediation and reconstruction process, and managing projects from first call through completion and billing support. This role is heavily focused on emergency services and mitigation, with a strong emphasis on communication, empathy, and problem-solving in high-stress situations. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented and that is a self starter and that had pride in what they do. Key Responsibilities Respond to emergency service calls for water, fire, smoke, mold, and biohazard events, including after-hours and weekends as part of an on-call rotation. Perform thorough initial inspections for water damage, fire and smoke damage, and biohazard/trauma scenes, documenting conditions with photos, readings, and notes. Develop and execute mitigation and remediation plans following industry standards and safety protocols. Walk homeowners step-by-step through the remediation and reconstruction process, setting clear expectations on timelines, scope, and next steps. Communicate calmly and empathetically with affected property owners, helping to reduce stress and build trust during difficult situations. Manage jobs from inspection through completion, including coordination with field crews, subcontractors, estimators, and the office/billing team. Monitor drying, equipment usage, and job progress; adjust the plan as needed and proactively solve problems in the field. Ensure all job documentation is complete and accurate to support estimating and billing (photos, moisture logs, work authorizations, change orders, job notes). Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites and follow all safety and PPE requirements. Work collaboratively with teammates, supporting a positive, respectful, and solution-focused culture. Required Skills and Qualifications Minimum 1 year of hands-on mitigation experience in water, fire, smoke, mold, or biohazard restoration. Strong understanding of basic mitigation principles (extraction, demolition, drying, cleaning, containment, and decontamination). Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical steps in plain language and calm anxious homeowners. Demonstrated ability to run or coordinate jobs from start to finish, including documentation to support billing and insurance. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think clearly under pressure. Positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and willingness to "jump in" where needed. Ability to work well with other team members, follow directions, and also work independently when required. Willing and able to work after-hours, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to perform physical work, including lifting equipment and materials, standing for extended periods, and working in various environments. Preferred Qualifications IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT, AMRT, or similar). Experience leading crews or acting as a primary contact for homeowners and adjusters. Familiarity with restoration software (Xactimate, Albiware, Encircle, CompnayCam, or similar).
Compensation Hourly pay range:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour , depending on experience and certifications. Eligable for a take home vehicle PTO Benifits Performance-based bonuses available. Eligible for overtime and on-call pay in accordance with company policy and applicable laws. Job Type:
