We are currently relaunching the venue and seeking a Group Sales & Events Coordinator to help drive bookings and build the event business from the ground up. This role is responsible for generating event revenue, developing partnerships in the local community, and managing events from initial inquiry through execution. The position combines sales, business development, event planning, and on-site event coordination. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, creating event opportunities, and delivering memorable guest experiences. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to play a key part in growing a hospitality concept while working within a fast-moving and entrepreneurial environment. Recess Tempe is part of House Rules Hospitality Group, an experiential hospitality company operating and developing multiple social entertainment venues with plans for continued expansion nationwide. Key Responsibilities Event Sales Respond to incoming event inquiries and convert leads into confirmed bookings Develop event proposals and packages tailored to guest needs Manage the full sales process from inquiry to confirmed reservation Maintain organized tracking of leads, bookings, and revenue within the company CRM Follow up consistently with potential clients to close business Business Development This role is responsible for actively generating new event opportunities in the local market.
Responsibilities include:
Building relationships with local businesses and corporate offices Developing partnerships with event planners and destination management companies (DMCs) Networking with apartment communities, universities, and local organizations Partnering with DJs, entertainers, and vendors who can utilize the space Promoting the venue as a destination for corporate outings, team building events, birthday parties, and private celebrations The coordinator is encouraged to identify creative ways to utilize the venue, including special events or partnerships that help drive additional revenue. Event Planning Serve as the primary contact for clients throughout the planning process Coordinate event details including activities, timelines, food, and beverage packages Manage event deposits, confirmations, and final payments Ensure all event logistics are clearly documented and communicated internally Coordinate food orders and event needs with the kitchen and operations team Event Execution Serve as the on-site coordinator or host during events when necessary Ensure events run smoothly from arrival to completion Manage guest check-in and event flow Coordinate staffing needs with the Operations Coordinator Support overall guest experience and troubleshoot issues when needed Administrative Responsibilities Maintain organized records of all event bookings and client communications Track event revenue and booking performance Utilize company CRM and reporting tools to monitor sales pipeline and event activity Provide weekly reporting on lead activity, bookings, and outreach efforts Schedule Typical schedule includes: Monday through Friday daytime hours focused on outreach, lead follow-up, and event planning Occasional evenings or weekends when hosting events or meeting clients The role requires flexibility based on event activity. This position offers a stable base salary combined with performance-based earning potential tied directly to event bookings and revenue growth. Base Salary Starting salary of $40,000 annually, depending on experience. Performance-Based Earnings In addition to base salary, this role participates in a service charge distribution tied directly to booked events. As event revenue increases through successful sales, outreach, and business development efforts, additional earnings are generated through this structure. This compensation model rewards individuals who actively drive bookings, build partnerships, and contribute to the overall growth of the venue.
