Campbell, California Pay:
$26 to $32 per hour, depending on experience.Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, plus Saturdays 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM (up to 40 hours per week).Benefits:
Health insurance (available at 30+ hours per week, which this role qualifies for).Role type:
Shift Lead. You'll open or close the building during your shifts and be the on-duty point person for staff and families.Growth path:
Clear track toward Assistant Manager, and potentially Customer Service Manager, for the right person. About the Role Sutton Swim School is a family-owned swim school in Campbell that's been teaching Bay Area kids for decades. This is a sales role first and a customer service role second. You're the first person most parents talk to when they're considering swim lessons for their child, and your job is to help them find the right fit and enroll. Here's what makes this sales job different from most: you'll teach one three-hour in-water swim lesson shift per week, every week. It's essential, not optional. You can't sell our programs with real conviction if you've never been in the water teaching a child to roll and float. We'll train you for this, even if you don't know how to swim yourself. If that sounds like a reason to keep reading, you're our kind of person. What You'll Do Turn inquiries, trial families, and walk-ins into families who stick with us for years. Have real conversations with parents about their child's goals, where they're at now, and the right starting level. You listen first, then recommend. Follow up on leads with genuine care. Warm leads don't go cold on your watch. Spot concerns with enrolled families early, and work them through before they become cancellations. Teach one three-hour in-water swim lesson shift per week so you can speak to our programs from real experience, not a script. Open or close the building on your shifts. You're the point person for staff and families when the manager isn't on site. Handle registration, scheduling, and account questions, and partner with management on referrals and retention. What We're Looking For Required:
At least 3 years of sales experience. Selling services and working with families is strongly preferred. Comfortable in water, willing to be trained as a swim instructor, and committed to teaching one three-hour in-water shift per week as a permanent part of the role. Available for the full schedule above, including evenings and Saturdays. A genuine interest in building long-term relationships with children and their families.Major pluses:
Marketing experience (social, email, referral programs, or local community marketing). Supervisory or managerial experience leading a customer-facing team. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Experience in another program-based or membership business (gym, music school, tutoring, kids' activities). Who Thrives Here We look for a short list of things we can't teach: warmth with families, the kind of listening that builds trust fast, honest communication, the discipline to follow up without being reminded, and a real drive to close. If you read the in-water teaching paragraph and thought "good, I want to actually know what I'm selling," you're already on our wavelength. The Working Environment You'll spend most of your time in our front office, meeting families and working at a computer. One three-hour shift per week, you'll be in the pool teaching swim lessons. We'll train you for this; you don't need teaching experience coming in, but you do need to be comfortable in water. Expect a warm, humid pool environment and occasional lifting of small children (up to 50 pounds). This is a safety-sensitive position, and your attention and professionalism matter. How to Apply Submit your resume and application through Bamboo and we will be in touch as soon as we review it. We look forward to meeting you.Similar remote jobs
