The ideal candidate will possess an existing book of business, established shipper relationships, and a proven track record of generating freight revenue through direct sales efforts. This position is responsible for identifying, prospecting, and securing new customers while maintaining strong relationships with existing accounts. The Outside Sales Representative will serve as the primary point of contact for customers and work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure exceptional service and long-term account growth. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain a portfolio of active shipping customers. Leverage an existing book of business and industry relationships to generate immediate revenue opportunities. Prospect and acquire new customers through cold calling, networking, referrals, industry events, and in-person sales visits. Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospective and existing customers. Present transportation and logistics solutions including LTL, Volume LTL, Partial Truckload, Consolidation, and Specialized Services. Prepare and deliver pricing proposals, service presentations, and transportation solutions. Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements. Develop strategic sales plans to grow revenue within assigned territories and accounts. Identify opportunities for additional services and increased customer penetration. Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure customer expectations are met. Maintain accurate records of customer activity, opportunities, and sales forecasts. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue goals. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of transportation, logistics, freight brokerage, LTL, or truckload sales experience. Demonstrated success in outside sales and business development. Existing book of business and established customer relationships preferred. Strong knowledge of freight transportation, pricing, logistics operations, and supply chain solutions. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Self-starter with strong prospecting and closing abilities. Ability to travel regularly within assigned territory. Preferred Experience Experience selling LTL, Volume LTL, Partial Truckload, or Consolidation Existing relationships with retail, manufacturing, distribution, food, consumer goods, or industrial shippers. Proven history of meeting or exceeding annual sales quotas. Compensation Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission. Additional incentives for new account acquisition and revenue growth.
