POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales and Events Coordinator will follow the direction of the Marketing Manager in all aspects of marketing operations for Coyote Valley Casino Resort. Oversees all room and banquet sales and is the primary customer contact for services and events. Assists in targeting the right customer segments with motivating offers that profitably change consumer behavior. Plans and develops a comprehensive promotional and advertising program to maximize the casino resort's patronage.
OBJECTIVE
This position will add an outgoing, charismatic, and sincere presence to our casino resort guests. To increase the loyalty of existing casino resort patrons, develop the next generation of casino resort patrons, lead event sales, and sustain our competitive advantage by building upon our reputation for delivering world-class guest service, leaving a lasting impression on guests, staff, and owners by making everyone feel special.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND DUTIES
Assist in developing, implementing, and planning all casino promotions, entertainment, and events. Assist in decorating the casino for special events and special promotions. In collaboration with the Marketing Manager and team, assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures for marketing and special events. Event room and banquet sales. Consult with customers to determine the objectives and requirements for events such as meetings, conferences, and conventions. Coordinate services for customers' events, such as catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing, and event security. Meet with customers to plan scope and format events, to establish and monitor budgets, and to review administrative procedures and event progress. Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, participant satisfaction, and resolution of any problems that arise. Conduct post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved. Secures bids for all production work, creates order requests, tracks budget, and adheres to property accounting policies. Provide marketing support (proofreading, creation, and project management) Manage project timelines. Be responsible for overall organization, guest service/support. Works with gaming departments to develop casino promotions and programs. May act as master of ceremonies for functions as needed. Coordinate purchases of giveaway items. Participate in marketing promotions and activities as needed. Create direct marketing campaigns and monitor and modify them if necessary to ensure maximum profitability. Identify opportunities to strengthen leadership in customer relationships and improve the property's profitability via enhancements to our knowledge base in support of operations strategy. Provides analysis and recommendations introducing new revenue generation opportunities and cost reduction. Interprets results of new segmentation, including tests and controls, and presents recommendations to enhance marketing program results. Coordinates the marketing activities of all applicable Tribal business enterprises to develop new markets, increase market share, and maintain a competitive position. Supports and cultivates new ideas and methods to deliver business solutions. Partners with Analytics to create reporting and evaluation tools to drive business forward. Must abide by the dress code, maintaining the professional appearance of the casino at all times. Participate in Tribal events, including non-profit events, as needed. Maintain professional behavior with positive representation of Coyote Valley on and off the clock. Must maintain strict confidentiality during and after employment. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Excellent customer service and human relations skills. Must possess excellent written and oral communication. Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented. Possess a solid understanding of the social media and marketing universe, including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, etc. Personal and mini-mainframe computer competency required. Familiarity with current analytic tools required. Experience with players' club systems required. Experience with Konami is preferred. Marketing background is a plus. Microsoft Office proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills to effectively handle all issues. Maintains a professional, executive-level appearance. Ability to perform various diversified and challenging duties with poise and confidence. Understanding of company values, goals, and knowledge of the department policies and procedures for completing work. Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and at least one (1) year of experience in a related field, or Associate's Degree in a related field and at least three (3) years of experience in a related field, or High School Diploma/GED, some college, and five (5) years of experience in a related field. Good presentation skills. Knowledge of office machines is required, including copier, personal computer, calculator, video technology, camera, recorder/transcriber, etc.
Language Skills:
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
Reasoning Ability:
Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Physical:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to regularly stand, walk, and move throughout all areas of the casino. Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, noisy casino environment and effectively deal with guests, management and employees in all situations. Physical factors may include constant standing, walking, pushing/pulling, use of hearing, smell, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision; frequent carrying/lifting, stooping, reaching, manual handling, typing, bending, occasional sitting and kneeling.
Work Environment:
The work environment described herein is representative of that which an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job: Working conditions may include frequent exposure to noise, air quality, and extreme heat/cold. Potential hazards include electric shock, chemical, computer, and equipment use. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary to perform the required job duties. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise levels may increase to a loud level.
Other:
Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license. Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified members of the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians Tribe or qualified Native American candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (Title 2, U. S Code).
