Job Description

Southland Polymers is a 45-year leader in thermoplastic resin distribution. We have a high-energy sales team across LA, Chicago, and Mexico, and we are looking for a Sales Operations & Project Lead to act as the "engine" of our growth. We are seeking a disciplined professional with a heavy Project Management or Office Management background who thrives on daily follow-ups, strict accountability, and high-cadence activity. You will take the scientific, milestone-driven approach of a Project Manager and apply it to our multi-million dollar sales pipeline.
What You Will Do Daily Pipeline Velocity:
You will own the company-wide project list. This involves daily calls to our sales team to hunt roadblocks and ensure yesterday's leads are today's progress.
Asana Mastery:
You will build and maintain a transparent sales workflow in Asana. If a project stalls, you are the one identifying why and crafting the strategy to fix it.
Business Development:
You will work alongside the CEO to craft sales strategies, perform market research, and pre-screen accounts for the sales team. The "Closer": Travel to customer sites in the US and Mexico to provide the technical and analytical support needed to turn a pitch into a purchase order.
Sales Strategy:
Utilize historical data to develop semi-annual sales targets and report directly to the CEO on daily/weekly activity levels.
Who You Are A Disciplined Driver:
You have 8+ years of experience in Project Management or high-level Office Management . You are used to managing moving parts and "managing up."
Asana Power-User:
You have used Asana (or similar PM tools) in a professional environment where daily follow-ups were the standard, not the exception.
Aggressive & Analytical:
You have the "sales DNA" but the brain of an analyst. You enjoy the "hunt" of business development but rely on data and systems to win. Bilingual (Preferred): Fluency in Spanish is a major plus due to our operations in Mexico.
Self-Starter:
You don't wait for a weekly meeting to solve a problem. You see a stall in the pipeline and you jump in immediately. Qualifications 4+ years in Project Management or Technical B2B Office Management. Proven experience in prospecting, cold-calling, or project-based "selling." Expert proficiency in Asana (or similar) , Salesforce CRM (or similar) , and Microsoft Excel . 4-year degree in a technical or business field. Willingness to travel (US and Mexico).
