In this role, you'll assist clients through the exciting journey of selecting and designing flooring solutions that transform homes and commercial spaces. Combining your sales expertise with a passion for design, you'll help customers create beautiful, functional spaces while ensuring a smooth and enjoyable buying experience.
What You'll Do:
Engage with customers on the phone, in-store and through outside sales efforts to understand their flooring needs and preferences. Provide expert guidance on product selection, layout design, and renovation ideas to create customized solutions. Conduct product demonstrations and explain the features of flooring materials and related products to effectively guide customers through their selection process. Negotiate pricing, terms, and project timelines with clients to ensure mutual satisfaction and successful sales closures. Manage account relationships by following up on leads, maintaining client records, and supporting repeat business through excellent customer service. Assist with merchandising, stock management, POS transactions, cash handling, and retail math to help maintain a well-organized sales floor.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in outside sales or inside retail sales within the flooring, renovation, or construction industries is a plus. Don't have all the experience? That's okay—we're willing to train the right candidate with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to confidently recommend and sell flooring products for residential and commercial projects of all sizes. Knowledge of remodeling processes, interior design principles, and maintenance requirements for flooring installations. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. High school diploma or equivalent required. Basic math skills for measurements, pricing calculations, and retail transactions. Proficiency with computers and common office software such as QuickBooks, Google Drive, etc. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for limited travel to jobsites.
Schedule and requirements:
Full time with some Saturdays required. Flexibility to work retail hours. Occasional travel required for industry events, training and job site visits. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. For sample movement and showroom maintenance. Retail business hours are Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PM, Saturdays 9:00AM-3:00PM.
