Responsibilities Engage with customers both inside the store and through outside sales efforts to understand their renovation, remodeling, or lighting needs. Demonstrate products through engaging product demos, highlighting features such as lighting design, layout options, and merchandising solutions. Utilize CAD and SketchUp tools to assist customers with layout design and space planning projects. Negotiate pricing and upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction. Manage account relationships by providing ongoing support, addressing inquiries related to lighting sales, interior design, or maintenance services. Maintain comprehensive product knowledge across lighting solutions, remodeling materials, and construction supplies to offer expert advice. Support marketing initiatives by participating in promotional events and creating attractive merchandising displays that draw customer attention. Qualifications Proven experience in outside sales or retail sales within the construction, renovation, or interior design industries. Strong knowledge of lighting design, layout planning (using SketchUp or CAD), and remodeling processes. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful upselling and closing high-end sales. Multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively. Exceptional communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous. Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math to ensure accurate transactions. Organizational skills to manage stock levels, merchandising displays, and account management tasks efficiently. Basic math skills for estimating project costs and calculating discounts or pricing adjustments.
