This Business Development Specialist will provide excellent customer service to existing customers, research and contact new customers, provide product and market research technical support, preparing sales & marketing reports along with sales coordination to customers, and the Products Team, identifying new distributors for the sale of chemical compounds, adhesives and environmentally friendly cleaners used in the marine industry. Teakdecking Systems (TDS) is the world's premier manufacturer of marine boat decking, with 40 years of experience engineering and installing custom pre-assembled modular teak and composite decks for boats. Our Products Division manufactures and supplies epoxies, caulk, sealers and environmentally friendly cleaners to maintain the natural beauty and durability of our custom boat decks. This position is located in Sarasota, Florida What You'll Do:
Business / Market Development Conduct market research on competitive products and prepare comparative reports. Research prospective new domestic distributors and global distributors. Maintain and grow existing customer base, identify new sales opportunities through the utilization of a variety of internal reports, referrals, and leads. MUST be fluent in Excel, you will be the departmental expert in creating reports, tables, formulas, spreadsheets, Pivot Tables, use VLook-up, and create PowerPoint presentations. Market Teakdecking Systems products and cultivate relationships with current and prospective distributors and retailers in order to aid in the development of new business opportunities Participate in regional sales and Trade Show visits Contact current and potential customers to schedule appointments or to follow-up on previous sales calls. Respond to E-mails and phone inquiries in a timely manner (generally 24 hours or less) and or demonstrate the use of the products and secure sales. Maintain knowledge of current products to describe and demonstrate products, provide information¸ supply sample packages and product brochures to customers. Knowledge of price lists, contracts as applicable, to respond to potential customers. Administrative Support Provide accurate product and market research technical support, preparing sales & marketing reports, organizational and administrative support to the department and the Division VP with advanced Excel, PPT and Microsoft office skills. Other duties as assigned from the smooth operation of the organization. Required Education /Experience/Skills Must have an Entrepreneurial Mind-set MUST be fluent in Excel , you will be the departmental expert in creating reports, tables, formulas, spreadsheets, Pivot Tables, use VLook-up, and create PowerPoint presentations. College degree preferred, high school diploma or GED required 2 years of sales / market research experience; possibly retail, food & beverage, etc. Must be a self-starter and voluntarily take on tasks as needed Must have great communication skills, both verbal and written Must be very well organized Great customer service and administrative skills Experience in working as a team WORK ENVIRONMENT
