Job Description

Company Overview Sullivan Supply Inc. is a leading provider of livestock grooming supplies, equipment, and show products. Established in 1989, the company is dedicated to innovation, exceptional customer service, and supporting the livestock community through education and quality products. Overview We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Sales Representative to support and grow our contract metal fabrication business. This role combines inside and outside sales responsibilities, focusing on building long-term relationships with customers across agricultural, construction, and commercial industries. The ideal candidate understands fabrication processes and can translate customer needs into accurate quotes while coordinating closely with shop and production teams. This position is best suited for someone who can sell tailored solutions—not just standard products—and who thrives in a hands-on, results-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers Identify customer needs and recommend custom fabrication solutions Prepare accurate quotes and estimates based on drawings, specifications, and customer requirements Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through project completion Conduct both inside sales and outside sales (on-site visits, job walks, client meetings) Collaborate with shop managers, welders, and production teams to ensure project feasibility, timelines, and profitability Follow up on bids and maintain a healthy sales pipeline Resolve customer questions, concerns, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle Track and update all customer interactions, quotes, and sales activity system Stay informed on market trends, material costs, and competitor offerings
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in sales within metal fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial sectors (or equivalent hands-on industry experience) Strong understanding of fabrication processes, including welding, cutting, forming, and assembly Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications Excellent communication and customer service skills Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities independently
Preferred Skills:
Experience with estimating and job costing in a fabrication environment Strong problem-solving ability and mechanical aptitude Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical customers Negotiation skills and experience closing custom project sales Knowledge of agricultural and construction equipment or operations
Compensation & Benefits:
