Columbia City, IN Reports to : Commercial Director About PPG Precision Products Group (PPG) is a growing global leader in converting niche engineered materials for electrical, aerospace & defense, medical, and industrial markets. As a result of continued growth, we are introducing a new Inside Sales Representative role to support our customers and operations in the textiles division of the company (Breyden Products and Saylor Technical Products. Precision Products Group operates across multiple company divisions and brands, which include Cindus Corporation, Paramount Tube, Breyden Products, Saylor Technical Products, and Euclid Medical. Role Overview A hands-on customer-oriented sales professional who is comfortable and excels in serving as the primary point of contact for customers. Interfaces with operations and field sales to provide responsive and knowledgeable information to support the full order lifecycle. This role provides the necessary communications and provides a bridge between sales and operations, ensuring seamless order processing, issue resolution, and delivers consistently positive customer experiences for all customers. This role will also assist in supporting revenue growth by developing and managing relationships with existing and prospective customers across the enterprise. This role will leverage phone, video, and digital channels to identify customer needs, present solutions, and convert opportunities into closed business - while collaborating closely with field sales and technical support resources. Key Responsibilities Customer Support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers in the textile segment of the organization's portfolio of products.
  • Manage customer inquiries related to pricing, lead times, order status, and technical documentation.
  • Proactively manage open quotes and orders to support revenue conversion and on-time delivery.
  • Prepare and process quotes, sales orders, revisions, and customer follow-ups for product lines and customer requests.
  • Resolve order discrepancies, returns, credits, and complaints efficiently while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Support the field sales team by providing account information, preparing quotes, pulling sales data, and coordinating follow-up activities.
  • Partner with supply chain, operations, and engineering to expedite urgent customer needs or provide solutions to customer concerns.
  • Adhere to service level agreements for response time, order accuracy, and resolution targets. Internal Coordination
  • Coordinate closely with the operations team and sales leadership team to ensure continuity of customer communications.
  • Collaborate with sales, product development, sales operations, engineering, operations, and quality teams to proactively solve customer challenges and improve customer experience.
  • Communicate customer feedback, challenges, and requests to assist in prioritization and ensure that critical customer issues are properly escalated and resolved. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems
  • Maintain accurate customer account records, contact information, and transaction history.
  • Timely updates of order information, quotes, and customer information to assist with commercial reporting and forecasting inputs.
  • Assist with document control including specifications, drawings, and customer compliance documentation.
  • Ensure documentation of sales activities, opportunities, and account notes in CRM system. Product Sales and Prospecting
  • Proactively prospect, qualify, and develop a pipeline of business opportunities within assigned territory or portfolio of accounts.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts through regular outreach, solution selling, and relationship-building.
  • Present and demonstrate company products and solutions to key stakeholders, addressing technical and commercial questions with confidence.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotes, proposals, and pricing agreements in alignment with company pricing guidelines.
  • Meet or exceed activity KPIs and sales metrics established by sales leadership.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to effectively inform sales strategy.
  • Participate in sales training, product education, and continuous improvement activities. Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • 3+ years of experience in customer service, inside sales, or sales support.
  • Strong customer-service mindset and the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization and customers.
  • Excellent analytical, data analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft Office Products - Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage shifting priorities of the organization and customers.
  • Proficiency with ERP/CRM systems, experience with Made2Manage, Winman, or HubSpot preferred.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools that enhance optimization is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience supporting engineered and/or technical products is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret customer specifications or technical drawing is preferred. Travel Minimal travel required, primarily based out of Columbia City, IN location. May travel to other office locations as needed or infrequently - Fort Wayne, IN and Grand Rapids, OH. What We Offer
