Summary/Objective:
The Outside Sales Representative will sell products and services offered by the company to current and new clientele. Incumbents are required to maintain an existing base and build new relationships with new clients meeting sales objectives.
Essential Functions:
  • Builds and maintains a network of prospects from which to identify new sales leads.
  • Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs.
  • Demonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
  • Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
  • Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, delivery logs, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
  • Attends weekly sales training sessions.
  • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
Non-Essential Functions:
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
  • A successful track record in industrial sales, with a minimum of 3-5 years of overall sales experience.
: Associates degree (or equivalent) in related field required. Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, business or a related field preferred. : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Technical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power transfer products, components, brands, and systems preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to work autonomously.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Certifications/License Requirements:
  • Driver's license, with good driving record and reliable means of transportation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
    None Work Environment:
    • Office and production environment both while at the home office and covering territories
    Position Type/Expected Hours:
    • Incumbents are required to work on a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of customers.
    These requirements can extend beyond daily work schedules and may occasionally require weekend availability.
    Physical Demands:
    • Must be able to drive a car.
    • Prolonged periods of walking and standing and sitting at a desk while working on a computer or when traveling by car to and from customers and potential prospects.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
