- 120,000 + Uncapped CommissionPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Sales Lead to drive growth in our commercial flooring division.
The ideal candidate will combine strong project sales and commercial sales experience with construction industry knowledge to develop new business, manage the bidding and estimating process, and nurture long-term client relationships. This role balances strategic business development with hands-on estimating and proposal management to win profitable projects and support successful project handoffs to operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a targeted sales strategy for commercial flooring projects, identifying and pursuing opportunities across design firms, GC/CMs, property managers, and corporate clients.
Generate and qualify leads through networking, cold outreach, industry events, and collaboration with internal teams and trade partners.
Prepare accurate scope-based estimates and competitive bids, coordinating material takeoffs, labor calculations, subcontractor quotes, and allowances.
Manage the end-to-end proposal process: develop professional proposals, present value-based solutions to clients, respond to RFPs/RFQs, and follow up to close deals.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, act as the primary point of contact during the sales cycle, and ensure client requirements are captured and communicated to operations.
Collaborate closely with project management, estimating, purchasing, and production to ensure seamless project transitions and alignment on schedules, pricing, and margins.
Track sales pipelines, forecast revenue, and report progress against targets using CRM tools and internal reporting systems.
Lead contract negotiations and secure signed agreements, ensuring terms protect company interests while meeting client needs.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and product innovations to identify opportunities for differentiation and new service offerings.
Mentor and support junior sales or estimating staff as needed; contribute to continuous improvement of sales and estimating processes.
Qualifications5+ years of experience in project sales or commercial sales within the flooring, construction, or related building products industry; proven record of winning commercial projects.
Strong estimating and bidding experience, including takeoffs, unit pricing, labor productivity, and subcontractor coordination.
Deep knowledge of commercial flooring products, installation methods, and contract types (unit price, lump sum, allowance-based).Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to build relationships at owner, architect, and contractor levels.
Proven negotiation skills and contract management experience.
Comfortable working with CRM systems, estimating software, and Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency required).Self-starter with strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines, and a results-oriented mindset.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel regionally to client sites, project walkthroughs, and industry events.
Bachelors degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
