Job Description

DCT is seeking a Metalworking Sales Specialist for the North/Central Indiana region. This position will focus on selling a broad range of industrial products (primarily cutting tools) to a portfolio of existing accounts. They will assume responsibility for providing sales support for the DCT and its Suppliers. They will be responsible for driving sales in exiting accounts as well as maintaining and developing new accounts within the market. What it takes to be successful in this role: Regularly make sales calls to prospective customers and current customer establishments. Utilize a consultative sales approach to sell products and services, offer add-on and up-sell products that may benefit the customer, and suggest alternative products when a customer requested product is not available. Cultivate and maintain solid, long-term relationships with customers and suppliers. Assist and resolve customer requests and/or problems in a prompt and professional manner. Reach sales and gross margin goals. Ability to penetrate existing accounts with new solutions, products and value Ability to find, open and close new customers Ability to execute on business plans - including developing, executing and measuring effectiveness of tactics Report competitive conditions, observed customer financial weakness and customer feedback to management. Execute sales effort in an ethical and professional manner that will reflect favorably on the reputation of both the salesperson and the company. Attend sales, product, and other branch/company meetings. Develop a sustainable sales/profit volume in assigned territory.
Skills & Experience Required:
Strong experience and background with selling metalworking cutting tools, indexable cutting tools, or other related products; 3+ years of experience Track record of acquiring new business Industry experience preferred, but not required Professional maturity, integrity, discipline and a positive attitude Strong MS Office proficiency Exceptional communication skills (Presentation, listening, verbal and written) Valid driver's license and ability to travel often in the assigned territory and occasionally travel to attend company and vendor activities and events required. Ability to travel. Strategic ability in order to effectively conduct market planning and identifying new opportunities
