POSITION OBJECTIVES / SUMMARY

We are looking for anyone with a good work ethic, good attitude, and willingness to LEARN. Potential candidates are asked to pass a pre-employment drug screen, complete a physical examination and a criminal background check. If you are mechanically minded, like working with people, and are looking to build a career, then this is the program for you! Quality Water Products is a sister company of Team E. J. Prescott. QWP is a Team of professionals devoted entirely to the manufacturing and distribution of the finest line of waterworks, sewer, and drain utility products in the Northeast. This position operates out of South Barre, MA., and covers the many aspects of QWP's operations including the machine shop, warehouse, estimating, and inside/outside sales. Training will occur on the job and will be hands on. Successful candidates who complete the program will be assigned to a position within the Inside Sales Team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safety training - OSHA 10 Hour
• Forklift training and certification
• Shipping and Receiving
• Saw cutting, grinding, threading pipe, and some painting when necessary
• Picking the proper materials, loading them safely into the lathe or threader, and centering the material for machining (whether flanging or grooving)
• Fabricating items to meet company policies and AWWA standards as outlined by QWP
• Identify, monitor, and prepare project bidding documents, materials take-offs, and pricing estimates within a designated territory.
• Develop relationships within designated territory with company personnel, customer base, vendors, and engineering community. Travel and some overnights required.
• Utilize and maintain CRM tool for project management and tracking.
• Generating sales within our established Contractors and Municipalities
• Responding to requests from customers for product information
• Remaining knowledgeable and up to date on changes and developments in our customers and competition
• Supporting Outside Salesmen by entering orders and accessing customer and product information when they are out on the road.
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

POSITION COMPETENCIES / JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years old
• Mechanical aptitude
• Be able to pass pre-employment checks (background check and drug screen)
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Physical requirements include frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling is required
• Must work well with others

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required. College experience preferred but not required. Trade or vocational training is a plus.
