Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a Counter Sales Associate to serve as the first point of contact for customers and contractors entering or calling the store. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer interaction, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced building materials or construction supply environment. As a key member of the front-of-store team, you will provide outstanding customer service, process sales transactions accurately, and support day-to-day showroom and yard operations. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for walk-in customers and phone inquiries Facilitating sales of small projects, assisting contractors and customers with product selection Locate and coordinate special-order items with vendors Process sales orders, write tickets, and generate purchase orders Accurately receive and process cash, check, and credit card payments Create and process invoices Answer and route incoming calls professionally Support yard operations as needed Maintain showroom inventory accuracy and appearance Stock shelves and assist with inventory updates and reviews Open and close the store as scheduled Maintain a clean, organized, and professional showroom environment Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required Experience 1-3 years of experience in the building or construction industry preferred 1-3 years of retail sales experience, preferably in building materials SkillsAbilities Strong customer service and communication skills Solid math and problem-solving abilities Sound judgment and decision-making skills Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office and standard point-of-sale systems Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, customer-facing environment Licensing Valid driver's license (preferred) PhysicalWork Environment Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and lift materials regularly Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures Exposure to noise, dust, uneven ground, and other typical yard/store conditions Ability to wear required PPE Why Join Us?
