POSITION SUMMARY
Buchheit Logistics, a carrier of dry bulk and finished goods, is seeking a safety-minded, results-driven trucking Freight Broker to assist our logistics efforts nationwide. A Logistics Freight Broker acts as an intermediary between shippers who need to transport goods and carriers that provide transportation services. The broker coordinates freight movement, negotiates rates, secures transportation capacity, tracks shipments, and ensures timely delivery while maintaining strong relationships with customers and carriers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and maintain relationships with shippers, carriers, and transportation providers. 2. Identify customer shipping needs and arrange appropriate freight transportation solutions. 3. Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with carriers and customers. 4. Match available loads with qualified carriers. 5. Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery and resolve transportation issues. 6. Track freight movements and provide shipment updates to customers. 7. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies. 8. Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, contracts, and records. 9. Resolve customer complaints, claims, and service issues. 10. Meet sales, revenue, and margin targets. 11. Other duties as assigned or directed
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred. 2. Experience in freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, sales, or customer service preferred. 3. Knowledge of transportation modes, freight markets, and industry regulations. 4. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. 5. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. 6. Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), Microsoft Office, and logistics software. 7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
