Where is the work:
Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires. What's in it for you: This role gives you the opportunity to lead the technology and operational backbone that supports sales compensation processes across the organization. You will play a key role in improving how compensation plans are configured, processed, reported, and supported through scalable systems and automated workflows. You will partner closely with Sales, Finance, HR, Legal, and IT teams to translate business needs into technology solutions. This role offers high visibility across the organization and the opportunity to drive meaningful process improvements, strengthen data accuracy, improve user experience, and reduce manual work.
What you will do:
As a Sales Compensation Operations Leader, you will lead the systems, data, reporting, and process enablement work that supports sales compensation operations.
You will:
Lead technology-enabled sales compensation operations, including system configuration support, workflow management, data validation, reporting, and production support. Partner with business stakeholders to understand process needs and translate them into clear system requirements. Work closely with IT and product teams to design, test, and implement enhancements for compensation-related applications and reports. Support compensation plan assignment processes through system workflows, approval logic, forms, notifications, and employee acknowledgment processes. Manage production support activities, including issue intake, ticket prioritization, root cause analysis, defect resolution, and user communication. Lead data validation, reconciliation, and control processes to ensure accurate employee, role, territory, plan, and payout-related information. Support integration needs between HR, finance, sales compensation, reporting, and downstream systems. Create and maintain operational dashboards, reports, and analytics to improve visibility into plan assignments, exceptions, ticket volumes, processing status, and data quality. Partner with Finance, HR, Sales, Legal, and Technology teams to ensure processes are scalable, compliant, and aligned with business needs. Drive automation opportunities to reduce manual processes, improve cycle time, and strengthen controls. Lead user acceptance testing, regression testing, and business validation for system changes and releases. Document business processes, system logic, requirements, knowledge articles, and user training materials. Build and lead a team focused on system reliability, operational excellence, reporting accuracy, and continuous improvement.
What you will bring:
8+ years of experience in business systems, IT operations, sales operations technology, HR technology, finance systems, compensation operations, or related areas. Strong experience supporting business applications, workflow tools, reporting platforms, or compensation-related systems. Ability to translate business requirements into system requirements, process flows, test scenarios, and implementation plans. Experience with production support, ticket management, issue triage, root cause analysis, and defect resolution. Strong understanding of data validation, reconciliation, reporting controls, and operational governance. Experience working with HR, Finance, Sales, and IT teams in a cross-functional environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data, identify issues, explain impacts, and recommend practical solutions. Experience supporting system enhancements, integrations, user acceptance testing, and release management. Ability to simplify complex processes and identify automation opportunities. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain system issues and business impacts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with tools such as SAP Incentive Compensation Management System, Varicent, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage priorities, support a team, and deliver results under tight timelines. A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on accuracy, scalability, user experience, and operational controls.
