Business Development Representative | Entry-Level Sales Omaha Steel Casting (Owen Industries) - Wahoo, NE | Full-Time | Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | [Compensation TBD] Start Your Sales Career at a Company That's Been Winning for Decades. Omaha Steel Casting is looking for a Business Development Representative to join our growing Business Development team. This is an entry-level role with real responsibility, clear performance metrics, and a direct path to account management for the right person. You won't be selling widgets. You'll be representing a company with a decades-long reputation for quality steel castings in demanding industrial markets — and building the relationships that fuel our next chapter of growth. What You'll Do Prospecting & Lead Generation Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting calls daily to identify and engage new business opportunities Use lead generation tools including D&B Hoover's and other platforms to research, build, and prioritize target account lists across defined market verticals Qualify new business opportunities and hand off warm leads to the Account Manager to advance through the sales cycle Research prospective customers to understand their business needs and identify relevant Omaha Steel Casting solutions before reaching out Pipeline & CRM Management Maintain accurate, thorough records of all prospect interactions, outreach activity, and pipeline data in the company CRM Perform data entry and ongoing maintenance in both CRM and ERP systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of customer and order information Provide regular reporting on prospecting activity, lead generation results, and pipeline contribution to the Business Development Director Team Support Support the Business Development Director and broader team with administrative duties including processing customer purchase orders and return material authorizations (RMAs) Build productive, professional relationships across internal departments including Operations, Accounting, Quality, and Engineering Participate in regular team meetings and report on outreach metrics and pipeline progress What We're Looking For A self-starter with a competitive, results-oriented mindset — you hit your daily call targets because you want to, not because someone is watching Strong verbal and written communication skills — you're comfortable on the phone and clear in writing Highly organized and detail-oriented — you can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment without losing track Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with CRM or ERP platforms is a plus Familiarity with or willingness to learn lead generation tools such as D&B Hoover's Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or Communications preferred — or equivalent work experience Prior experience in sales, customer service, or administrative support is a plus but not required Knowledge of manufacturing, machining, or the casting/foundry industry is helpful but not expected Reliable, accountable, and willing to put in the work to grow What's In It For You ✅ [Competitive compensation — range TBD] ✅ Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM — consistent, predictable schedule ✅ A clear path to Account Manager for strong performers ✅ Hands-on training and mentorship from an experienced Business Development team ✅ Health, Dental & Vision insurance ✅ Life/AD&D and Short & Long-Term Disability coverage ✅ 401(k) with company match ✅ PTO and paid holidays — accrual begins immediately ✅ Wellness program with premium incentives ✅ Real ownership of your activity and results from day one Benefits begin the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.
