We're looking for a dynamic Business Development and Operations Intern to join our growing team and help drive exceptional service across our network!
What you will do:
Gain foundational exposure to freight forwarding operations, including shipment lifecycle, documentation flow, and service execution. Develop an understanding of cost structures, rate building, and margin management Assist in coordinating with pricing teams to request carrier rates and build competitive quotations. Learn how service capabilities and operational constraints impact pricing strategy and customer proposals Research and identify prospective customers and target industries Build prospect lists and support outbound sales campaigns (email, calls, LinkedIn, etc.) Assist with lead generation and pipeline management in CRM (Salesforce/CargoWise/other) Support pricing requests, RFQs, and customer proposals Participate in customer meetings, sales calls, and presentations Analyze trade lanes, competitors, and market opportunities Help prepare sales reports, KPIs, and territory plans Collaborate with operations teams to understand service offerings (air, ocean, customs brokerage) Shadow experienced sales professionals and learn freight forwarding fundamentals What you bring: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, or related field Strong interest in sales, business development, or international trade Confident communicator (phone, email, in-person) Self-starter with competitive and goal-oriented mindset Strong organizational and analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Previous sales, customer service, or internship experience is a plus At Röhlig, we believe in supporting our employees' well-being, growth, and work-life balance.
