This position works directly alongside our Director of Sales and is responsible for generating new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, cold calling, lead generation, and customer outreach. This is not a customer service or account management role. We are looking for someone who enjoys hunting for new business, building relationships from the ground up, and creating sales opportunities through persistence, research, and outbound activity. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in sales prospecting, cold calling, lead generation, business development, or inside sales and be comfortable spending a significant portion of their day identifying prospects, making outbound calls, and developing new business opportunities. This position offers a starting salary of $50,000 plus performance-based bonuses and provides a clear career path into outside sales and sales management. You will receive direct mentorship from experienced sales leaders and gain exposure to a wide variety of industries, including food packaging, health and beauty, agriculture, pet care, and consumer products. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to grow into a Sales Representative role with substantial earning potential through commissions and business development success. Key Responsibilities Conduct high-volume outbound cold calling to identify and develop new business opportunities Research companies, decision-makers, and market opportunities to build targeted prospect lists Generate qualified leads and quotation requests (RFQs) through proactive prospecting efforts Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of sales opportunities Schedule introductory meetings and discovery calls for the sales team Utilize LinkedIn, industry databases, internet research, referrals, and other prospecting tools to identify potential customers Follow up consistently with prospects through calls, emails, and other communication channels Build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations Present company capabilities, products, and services to prospective customers Maintain accurate prospecting activity, pipeline management, and sales notes within CRM systems Meet and exceed monthly activity goals, call metrics, lead generation targets, and business development objectives Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Management teams to support new business initiatives Support strategic growth initiatives through proactive outreach and market development efforts Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in inside sales, business development, sales prospecting, lead generation, or cold calling Proven experience conducting outbound sales calls and developing opportunities from prospecting efforts Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills Comfortable speaking with executives, purchasing managers, and decision-makers Experience researching prospects and identifying business opportunities Strong organizational and follow-up skills Self-motivated with a competitive and goal-oriented mindset Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, packaging, printing, industrial products, or B2B sales Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM platforms, or lead generation software Experience generating RFQs, sales meetings, and qualified opportunities What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is energetic, persistent, coachable, and motivated by results. Candidates whose experience is limited to customer service, order entry, account support, retail sales, or administrative functions without active prospecting and cold-calling experience may not meet the qualifications for this position.
