COMPENSATION
$60,000
  • 80,000 annually Position Summary The Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing customer relationships, and delivering solution-based sales support that helps customers achieve their business objectives.
This role works closely with customers, branch personnel, operations, and vendors to provide product expertise, responsive service, and profitable sales growth. This position is based out of our Liverpool branch.

) This is primarily an Outside Sales role; however, the selected candidate will initially work inside the branch to learn company products, systems, and processes. Training will take place at both the Liverpool and Syracuse locations. The role will require providing branch support as needed in addition to outside sales responsibilities. Saturday hours are required based on business needs. The Sales Representative is expected to identify opportunities, recommend solutions, manage customer accounts, and represent the company professionally while supporting company sales, margin, and customer satisfaction goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Relationship Management Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers and prospective customers. Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding customer needs, challenges, and business objectives. Maintain regular contact with customers through visits, phone calls, emails, and other communication methods. Identify opportunities to expand business within existing accounts and develop new customer relationships. Build customer loyalty through responsiveness, reliability, and exceptional service. Maintain accurate customer records and account activity documentation. Sales Growth & Business Development Meet or exceed individual and team sales, gross margin, and activity goals. Develop and execute account plans that support revenue growth and profitability objectives. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned markets and territories. Promote company programs, product lines, services, and vendor initiatives. Prospect for new customers and develop strategies to convert opportunities into long-term accounts. Monitor account performance and proactively identify growth opportunities. Establish sales objectives and regularly evaluate progress toward goals. Solution-Based Selling Understand customer applications, requirements, and challenges. Recommend appropriate products, services, and solutions that deliver value to customers. Utilize product knowledge to provide technical guidance and support. Present product features, benefits, and competitive advantages effectively. Collaborate with vendors and internal resources to develop customer solutions. Stay informed on product lines, pricing programs, industry trends, and emerging opportunities. Quotations, Orders & Account Management Prepare accurate quotations and proposals in a timely manner. Accurately enter orders, quotes, customer notes, and follow-up activities into company systems. Follow up on open quotations and sales opportunities to maximize conversion rates. Manage customer pricing within company guidelines and profitability objectives. Ensure customer commitments and expectations are communicated clearly and accurately. Monitor open orders and proactively address potential issues. Product Sourcing & Fulfillment Coordination Source required products through branch inventory, warehouse transfers, vendor relationships, or purchase orders. Coordinate with branch operations to ensure realistic delivery and fulfillment expectations. Communicate product availability, lead times, and delivery schedules accurately to customers. Work collaboratively with Purchasing, Operations, and Warehouse personnel to meet customer requirements. Assist in resolving supply chain and product availability challenges. Customer Service & Problem Resolution Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Take ownership of customer issues and follow through to completion. Coordinate with internal departments to resolve order, delivery, inventory, pricing, and service issues. Escalate significant customer concerns to management when appropriate. Maintain a customer-focused approach in all interactions. Support branch efforts to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction. Communication & Collaboration Maintain effective communication with Branch Management, Operations, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Customer Service personnel. Share market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive information with management. Participate in branch meetings, sales meetings, training programs, and vendor events. Support company initiatives, promotions, and strategic objectives. Foster positive working relationships across all departments. Professional Development & Industry Knowledge Continuously improve product knowledge, sales skills, and industry expertise. Stay current on manufacturer programs, product updates, pricing strategies, and market trends. Participate in training programs, trade events, and professional development opportunities. Maintain a strong understanding of company systems, processes, and procedures. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to travel, operate a motor vehicle, and perform activities such as standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and lifting product samples or materials when necessary.
