If you have Sommelier and/or Wine Sales experience, and are looking for a part time position in wine retail working with top wines and spirits, we'd love to hear from you. We are an established wine and spirits merchant. The culture in our shop is based on knowledge and authenticity. We stand behind every product that we sell, and expect every member of our team to have thorough knowledge of producers, vintages, regions, and winemaking processes. The right candidate will help create a hospitality-driven shopping experience while assisting with wine selection and pairing suggestions. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help drive sales, promote our curated wine selections, and foster a welcoming environment for all wine enthusiasts. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your retail skills while continuing to immerse yourself in the world of fine wines. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide personalized assistance to enhance their shopping experience Educate customers on different wine types, regions, and pairing suggestions Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing Maintain customers by remembering preferences and contribute to retaining new customers Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and manage product placement to maintain a clean and appealing store environment Conduct product demos and tastings when appropriate, sharing detailed information about each wine's unique qualities Maintain excellent phone and email etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries Support overall store operations and customer service standards Must be able to lift 50 lbs Must have weekend hours available Experience Must have 3+ years of Fine Wine Sales or Sommelier experience Advanced knowledge of classic wine regions and producers, as well as new and emerging wines Knowledge of POS systems Strong understanding of social media and marketing Strong communication skills with the ability to educate customers confidently about wine and spirits Experience with merchandising, stocking, and inventory management in a retail setting This role is perfect for energetic individuals eager to share their love of wine and spirits while developing valuable retail skills.
