We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Exterior Product Installation Sales Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will drive sales by providing expert guidance on exterior residential products, conducting product demonstrations, and delivering exceptional customer service. Your technical knowledge combined with sales expertise will help homeowners and contractors select the best solutions for their projects while ensuring smooth installation processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for home improvement, and a solid understanding of window and door products.
Job Purpose:
Generate profitable sales of residential windows, doors, garage doors, exterior siding, and related installation services by providing expert product knowledge, exceptional customer service, accurate project estimating, and comprehensive project management from initial customer contact through installation completion. Scope of Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers with product selection for home design Identify customer needs and guide them through the sales process, from initial inquiry to final purchase. Provide knowledgeable recommendations based on customer needs, preferences and budget Offer, prepare and present accurate window & door product and installation quotes ensuring transparency in pricing and product options. Prepare all project and product ordering sales orders, PO's, etc. in S&L Lumber's POS system Maintain accurate sales records and customer information in the company database. Process transactions efficiently, handling cash and credit card payments as needed. Process customer orders, track deliveries and ensure timely delivery and installation scheduling Work closely with installation teams to ensure seamless communication regarding customer orders and specifications. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques. Follow up with customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns. Stay current on available products Help maintain a clean, organized and visually appealing showroom Minimum Education Requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in sales, marketing, or a related field is a plus. Knowledge, Skill, Training, Licenses, Experience and/or Abilities:
Experience with retail counter/showroom and in-home sales and product design in the window, door, garage door, siding home improvement categories of product preferred Previous experience in window, door, garage door and exterior siding sales, a plus Must possess high customer service mentality; position requires the ability to sell to home-owners Understanding of sales techniques, concepts and the ability to persuade and influence Must have strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills including verbal and written Ability to multi-task, prioritize and maintain detailed files and records Ability to multi-task (counter walk in volume, telephone, email), etc. Must be willing to stay current on all products and supplier tools through ongoing training and education Stay updated on industry trends and product innovations to offer informed suggestions. Proficiency with POS software, Windows PC, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook and familiarity with Supplier Tools is a plus Must possess a strong willingness to learn The very highest of work quality and accuracy is key Basic mathematical skills for pricing and quotations. Indoor, temperature-controlled setting Fast-paced retail showroom with a focus on customer satisfaction May require occasional weekend, evening shifts or overtime as needed Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move window and door samples as needed. Standing for extended periods in a retail environment. Safety Requirements:
All employees are expected to adhere to the safety regulations set forth by OSHA and company policies. This may include, but is not limited to; eye protection in plants, hardhats outdoors, seat belts worn in all company vehicles, limited cell phone use and regular safety training.
