Flexible based on community outreach and operational needs Healspace LLC and Talbot Health Services provide behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services through evidence-based, recovery-focused care designed to support long-term wellness and meaningful outcomes. Our multidisciplinary team supports individuals experiencing substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and co-occurring needs through compassionate and individualized treatment services. We are seeking an energetic, relationship-focused, and motivated Business Development Representative to support growth initiatives and strengthen referral partnerships throughout Northwest Ohio and surrounding communities. This role serves as a critical member of the organization by supporting outreach efforts, building referral relationships, increasing community awareness, and assisting with census growth initiatives. Applicants with behavioral health, addiction treatment, healthcare outreach, admissions, community engagement, or business development experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Position Summary The Business Development Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining referral relationships, promoting organizational services, supporting census development efforts, and increasing community awareness regarding behavioral health and substance use treatment services. This role collaborates closely with admissions, clinical leadership, medical teams, and executive leadership to strengthen partnerships and support access to care. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, traveling within the community, networking, and building professional relationships across healthcare and behavioral health systems.
Primary Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Develop and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, healthcare systems, behavioral health organizations, courts, probation departments, social service agencies, therapists, providers, and community partners Conduct outreach visits and represent the organization at networking events, meetings, health fairs, and community activities Support referral development and census growth initiatives Educate community partners regarding behavioral health, substance use disorder, and co-occurring treatment services offered by the organization Build and maintain strong professional relationships with referral sources and community stakeholders Identify new partnership opportunities and referral channels Maintain outreach activity documentation and referral tracking systems Collaborate with admissions and leadership teams regarding referral trends and opportunities Assist with strategic growth initiatives and community engagement efforts Participate in team meetings and organizational development initiatives Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Business, Human Services, Psychology, Communications, or related field preferred Equivalent behavioral health, outreach, admissions, or healthcare experience may substitute for education Previous experience in business development, admissions, outreach, healthcare marketing, or behavioral health strongly preferred Experience in substance use disorder or behavioral health environments preferred Strong relationship-building and networking skills required Strong verbal and written communication skills required Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Ability to travel locally and attend community events required Preferred Qualifications Previous experience within behavioral health or addiction treatment organizations preferred Existing referral relationships within Northwest Ohio healthcare or behavioral health communities preferred Knowledge of OhioMHAS programs and behavioral health treatment systems preferred Experience with detoxification, MAT, outpatient, residential, and co-occurring treatment services preferred Familiarity with referral tracking systems or CRM platforms preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Successful candidates often demonstrate: Strong communication and presentation abilities Professional networking and relationship-building skills Self-motivation and accountability Organization and time management skills Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities Professionalism and adaptability Ability to work independently and collaboratively Commitment to recovery-focused care Benefits for Eligible Employees May Include Competitive compensation Paid time off Medical, dental, and vision benefits Professional development opportunities Supportive team environment Career growth opportunities Apply Today Interested applicants should submit a resume and include the position title in the subject line: Michael Ott mikeo@healtoledo.com
