ABOUT US
At Emmert Motors, we're more than a Chevrolet dealership. We're a family-owned part of the St. Helens community. We work out of a historic, character-rich building, and we put real effort into keeping the place welcoming for our customers and the people who work here.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
This is two jobs in one, and that's the opportunity. You'll sell vehicles, and you'll help us buy them. The selling side means helping customers find the right new or used Chevrolet with zero pressure. The buying side means you become one of the people who helps us source quality used inventory, which is one of the most valuable things you can do at a dealership and a big part of how you'll earn here.
On the sales side:
Greet customers and put them at ease, whether they walk in, call, or come in from an online lead Listen first, then match them to the right vehicle for their needs and budget Walk through features, warranty coverage, and financing options in plain language Run test drives and handle sales paperwork accurately Follow up with leads and past customers to build repeat and referral business On the acquisition side: Spot and source quality pre-owned inventory through service customers, past buyers, and private-party and online channels Recognize a good vehicle and a fair number, and bring those opportunities to us Turn everyday customer relationships into buy opportunities, not just sales
WHAT YOU'LL EARN
Realistic earnings run $55,000 to $105,000, and your effort drives where you land in that range. Pay is commission based, with bonuses on top for volume, F&I product sales, customer satisfaction, and helping source used inventory. The inventory piece matters here. The more good vehicles you bring in, the more you earn, which is not something most sales jobs offer. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We hire for attitude and work ethic. If you've sold cars before, great. If you haven't, that's fine too, and we'll train you. A genuine, people-first approach and strong communication skills A self-starter who's comfortable chasing both sales and buy opportunities Willingness to follow up consistently (a lot of deals happen on the third or fourth touch, not the first) Valid driver's license High school diploma or equivalent Sales, customer service, or retail experience is a plus, not a requirement
