Job Summary We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Freight Broker to join our growing logistics team in Fairfield, Ohio. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced transportation sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building strong customer and carrier relationships. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or transportation coordination, along with the ability to generate new business, manage client accounts, and negotiate competitive freight rates. Candidates with an existing book of business and strong industry connections are highly preferred. In this role, you will manage the full freight lifecycle-from prospecting and securing new customers to coordinating shipments and ensuring exceptional customer service. You will work closely with carriers, shippers, and internal support teams to deliver efficient transportation solutions while maximizing profitability. This position is fully onsite in Fairfield, OH, and is ideal for professionals looking to grow their income potential in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers within the logistics and transportation industry. Prospect and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and lead generation. Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to drive revenue growth. Maintain and expand an existing book of business, if applicable. Identify customer transportation needs and provide customized freight solutions. Carrier & Transportation Management Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and service agreements with carriers to ensure competitive pricing and service quality. Coordinate shipment scheduling, routing, and load management. Monitor freight movements and proactively resolve transportation issues or delays. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM platforms to optimize freight operations. Customer Relationship Management Provide exceptional customer service and maintain long-term client relationships. Respond promptly to customer inquiries, shipment updates, and issue resolution requests. Communicate effectively with customers, carriers, dispatchers, and internal teams. Administrative & Operational Support Maintain accurate shipment records, rate confirmations, and freight documentation. Perform data entry and update customer and carrier information in CRM/TMS systems. Collaborate with compliance and accounting teams to support smooth operational workflows. Required Qualifications Proven experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, transportation sales, or a related logistics role. Strong understanding of supply chain and transportation operations. Experience developing new business and managing customer accounts. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently in a results-driven environment. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency using CRM systems, transportation management systems (TMS), and Microsoft Office tools. Ability to reliably commute to Fairfield, OH or relocate prior to employment. Preferred Qualifications Existing book of business within freight brokerage or logistics. Experience with transportation planning, routing, and carrier management. Established relationships with shippers and carriers. Prior success generating consistent freight sales revenue. Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong motivation to grow earnings through commissions.
