The In-Home Design Consultant is a design-focused sales professional who helps homeowners select beautiful, functional window treatments that fit their style, needs, and budget. Through in-home consultations, you'll provide expert product recommendations, design guidance, and personalized solutions while building lasting client relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead homeowners through a complete in-home sales and design consultation process, including needs assessment, space evaluation, product presentation, measurements, design recommendations, proposal development, and finalization of the sale. Serve as a trusted design advisor by helping clients select products, colors, textures, materials, patterns, and styles that complement their home's architecture, décor, lifestyle, and budget. Stay current on industry trends, emerging design styles, color palettes, product innovations, and consumer preferences to provide expert recommendations and inspire clients with fresh design ideas. Provide professional guidance on coordinating window treatments, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, or other products with existing furnishings and finishes to create a cohesive design aesthetic. Develop in-depth product mastery to educate clients on available accessories, upgrades, features, and customization options, ensuring both function and style objectives are achieved. Take organized notes and photographs and provide clear, detailed instructions for installer follow-up and project execution. Operate computer systems to generate pricing, prepare quotes, and provide clients with detailed proposals that include all relevant product specifications, options, and accessories. Follow up on quotes as appropriate. Close sales in accordance with company sales standards and customer service expectations. Process sales accurately and professionally using company-provided tools, systems, and forms. Receive and resolve client concerns in a timely manner while maintaining positive customer relationships and partnering with vendor representatives when needed to facilitate solutions. Understand and follow company sales policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective service for all clients. Maintain samples, displays, and design materials in a clean, organized, and professional manner and transport sample books and materials to appointments as needed. Assist in the training and development of team members as assigned. Generate repeat business by maintaining relationships with existing clients, requesting referrals and reviews, and proactively identifying additional project opportunities. Be available to advise and assist installers on large or complex projects to ensure design intent and customer expectations are achieved. Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, project status updates, vendor communications, and business development efforts. Request customer reviews and referrals to support ongoing business growth. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or a related field or at least five years of related experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent sales and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with or ability to learn CRM software. Preferred prior experience ( 1 - 2 years) with window treatments or equivalent sales experience Driver's license required. Work Environment:

The work is typically performed at commercial and residential client sites with work in the office. The noise level is moderate to loud. This job is typically performed weekdays, 9 AM to 5:30 PM. Other travel, including long driving periods, may occasionally be required.
