Job Description

Pierson Computing Connection, Inc., is a woman-owned technology services company headquartered in Mechanicsburg, PA. We specialize in ProAVL design and installation, AVL installation, configuration services, hardware sales, and deployment services for our customers located throughout the East Coast. You'll love our vibrant culture centered on our values: Care, Be Honest, and Work as a Team. While titled "Inside Sales Representative," this is not a traditional inside sales position. This is primarily a sales support position that requires above-average Excel and organizational skills, as well as experience responding to requests for proposals, contracts, and statements of work. Your resume and/or cover letter must reflect this experience to be considered. Pierson's customers are predominantly K-12 schools, higher education, and federal and state contractors. This means that the Inside Sales Representative works with Pierson account executives to assist in the sales process, including reviewing RFPs and contracts, and assisting with writing proposals and preparing statements of work. Job Summary The Inside Sales Representative works with Pierson account executives to assist in the sales process. The Insides Sales Representative enters sales activity into the CRM system, adds products and items, issues purchase orders to vendors, and tracks orders and invoices as needed. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Process quotes, sales orders, and purchase orders for active client projects. Track orders and ensure invoices are processed per customer contract requirements. Maintain all won/lost information. Provide ongoing customer support by answering questions, tracing order status or product shipments, and resolving issues. Resolve order and shipping problems by investigating data and history, identifying alternative means of fulfilling orders, and notifying managers and customers. Prepare and distribute reports as needed for clients or internally. Prioritize and respond to inbound customer inquiries promptly and accurately. Resolve customer satisfaction issues in a timely manner to maintain the highest level of customer relationships. Maintain all sales activity in Pierson's CRM (Netsuite). Assist the Account Executives in writing proposals and preparing statements of work. Provide input on Pierson's website and marketing activities to drive sales opportunities. Other duties as assigned. Competencies Intermediate-level competency with general computer and Microsoft systems and applications, including Netsuite or other CRM systems, Microsoft Sharepoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook, and other technologies. Manage time effectively, meet personal goals, and work effectively with the other members of the Pierson team to maximize sales results and customer satisfaction. Able to effectively present information and write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in a clear and concise manner and respond to questions from staff and customers in a manner understandable to someone without similar technical knowledge. Speak clearly and persuasively in all situations, and listen and seek clarification. Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Required Education and Experience The following requirements are job-related and consistent with business necessity: High school diploma or GED. Any experience as indicated in the remaining Essential Functions and Competencies. Experience in a service industry customer-facing role. Class C (passenger vehicle) driver's license with a clean driving record. Preferred Education and Experience The following requirements are job-related and consistent with business necessity: One year of experience in the remaining Essential Functions and Competencies. Two years of business-to-business solution sales or estimating experience. Any experience working with public sector clients. Industry technical certifications, such as manufacturer certifications for IBM and Lenovo. Additional Eligibility Requirements Upon offer of employment, selected candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test, credit check, and Federal Criminal History, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record, Motor Vehicle Record, and Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Certification background checks at Pierson's expense. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is an hourly overtime-eligible position. This is a full-time position working a minimum of 40 hours per week. This position includes an unpaid 30-minute break when working five hours or more. Some overtime is possible, requiring the ability to occasionally work 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the manager's approval. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work Location This position is located at 10 Long Lane, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17050. This position is eligible to occasionally work remotely after the first 30 days with the manager's approval. Reports To This position reports to the Sales Manager. Travel Less than 10%. Travel in a company vehicle is primarily local during the business day, if needed, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Travel in a personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the IRS mileage rate if a company vehicle is not available.
