About the Opportunity Cambridge Management Group, Inc. (CMGI) and our affiliated maintenance and construction company, Cambridge Maintenance and Property Services, Inc. (CMPS), are expanding — and we need a field-based Outside Sales Representative to drive that growth across both lines of business - Property Management Services and Maintenance and Renovation (B2B). This role is built for someone who is energized by being out in the world: meeting people, building genuine relationships, and converting those connections into long-term business partnerships. You will spend the majority of your time away from the office — at client sites, broker offices, industry association events, and in the communities we serve. What You'll Do As an Outside Sales Representative, the majority of your working time will be spent in the field.
Core responsibilities include:
Field Sales & Business Development Represent CMGI and CMPS in-person at client meetings, property tours, broker offices, industry association events, trade shows, and community functions Prospect and qualify new leads for property management contracts and maintenance/construction/renovation service agreements Develop and work a defined territory and/or target account list, building a consistent pipeline of new business Present and articulate the value of CMGI and CMPS services to property owners, real estate investors, HOAs, brokers, developers, etc. Close new property management agreements, service or other contracts, coordinating handoffs to operations teams Relationship Management Build and maintain a robust network of referral sources including brokers, investors, attorneys, CPAs, and other industry professionals Attend and participate in local and regional association meetingson behalf of the company Identify cross-sell opportunities between CMGI property management services and CMPS maintenance/construction/renovation capabilities Maintain regular in-person and follow-up communication with prospects and clients throughout the sales cycle Pipeline & Reporting Track all field activity, leads, and opportunities in the company CRM Provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline status, market intelligence, and competitive activity Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly new business targets What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 2-4 years of outside sales, business development, or related field experience Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a field-based role Highly self-motivated and comfortable operating independently without daily supervision Strong interpersonal skills — you connect easily with people and leave a lasting impression Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident presenter in one-on-one and group settings Highly organized with disciplined follow-through on leads and commitments Valid California driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation Ability to travel within the assigned territory regularly; some evening/weekend event attendance required Preferred Qualifications Experience in property management, real estate, construction, or facilities services strongly preferred Existing professional network with brokers, property owners, investors, or HOAs in San Diego. Familiarity with CRM platforms and standard business tools Physical Requirements The following physical requirements are essential functions of this position.   • Regularly required to drive a personal vehicle throughout the assigned territory; valid California driver's license , valid insurance, and clean driving record required
  • Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods at events, property tours, job sites, and client meetings
  • Ability to walk through and inspect properties and active construction or maintenance sites, including uneven terrain, stairs, and confined spaces
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by phone, and in writing across a variety of settings
  • Frequently operates a computer, mobile device, and other standard office/field equipment requiring repetitive hand and wrist motion
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of marketing materials, signage, event supplies, or product samples up to 30 lbs.
  • May be required to attend evening or weekend networking events, association meetings, or client functions on a regular basis
  • Work is performed primarily in outdoor and field environments with exposure to varying weather conditions; personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required on certain job sites Classification & Compensation This position is classified as Exempt under California law pursuant to the Outside Salesperson Exemption (California Labor Code § 1171; IWC Wage Order requirements), as the primary duties of this role involve making sales and obtaining orders or contracts away from the employer's place of business, and the employee will spend more than 50% of working time engaged in outside sales activities.
Compensation includes a base salary plus uncapped commission, giving you direct control over your total earnings.
Compensation rage:
$80,000 - $100,000 is AVERAGE.
Base Salary:
