Celebrating 91.3 FM The Summit - Nearly 40 Years Serving Akron & Northeast Ohio The Summit FM is 91.3 FM Akron, Canton, 90.7 FM Youngstown/western, PA, and 90.1 FM Athens, Ohio. Musically Adventurous - Community-Focused Public Radio Sales Representative If you enjoy The Summit's music and community service programming, this contracted sales position might be for YOU! We want to add to our talented sales team to secure business underwriting from regional businesses and organizations. This commission-based contracted sales position targets potential Youngstown region corporate sponsorship of music programming and digital assets. In addition to prospecting for new businesses, they will manage current accounts to ensure timely collection and increase renewal revenue. Interested - email your resume to jobs@thesummit.fm The sales representative compiles personal weekly sales and activities reports, works remotely with the Sales Director to ensure that contract confirmations are accurate. In addition, the sponsorship announcements are written, approved, scheduled, and run appropriately. Other opportunities include working with other station departments including marketing, events, and programming as necessary.
Qualifications:
At least two years of hands-on experience in sales, corporate promotion, or marketing required. Experience in selling radio advertising will be an asset. Experience in public radio or television will be an advantage. Familiarity with copywriting and general database systems will be helpful as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet or exceed the underwriting sales goal on a monthly basis Follow the procedures for setting individual salesperson and station budget goals Effective evaluation of market performance and development of action items to maximize revenue potential in the market Hold weekly - remote - goal meetings with the sales team to review sales pacing, results, and activity Reinforce, coach, and encourage, the team on personal and individual account development and systems/procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Three to five (3-5) years of sales experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience;
Must have previous proven sales experience;
Excellent sales leadership, interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, excellent written and communication skills;
Experience with generating new/active leads along with the implementation of sales-organization within database software.
