This individual will play a key role in driving census growth and strengthening referral relationships for inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health services. This position is ideal for a seasoned behavioral health business development professional with an existing network of referral sources across primary mental health, psychiatric hospitals, detox/residential programs, healthcare systems, community organizations, and provider groups. The ideal candidate understands the behavioral health landscape across multiple levels of care and is comfortable working with referral sources tied to Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and self-pay populations. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong referral relationships throughout Indiana, Ohio, and parts of Michigan Manage and grow an active book of business consisting of: Psychiatric hospitals Behavioral health providers Detox and residential treatment centers Therapists and outpatient providers Healthcare systems and discharge planners Community referral organizations Represent the organization within the marketplace through consistent field outreach and relationship development Conduct regular in-person meetings, lunches, presentations, and networking events with referral partners Collaborate closely with admissions and leadership teams to support census growth initiatives Educate referral sources on available behavioral health programs, admissions criteria, payer acceptance, and treatment offerings Travel consistently throughout assigned territories, including overnight travel as needed Maintain CRM documentation, referral tracking, and outreach reporting Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, payer changes, and regional behavioral health needs Requirements 3+ years of behavioral health business development or outreach experience Existing referral relationships within Indiana, Ohio, and/or Michigan preferred Strong understanding of: Primary mental health Substance use disorder (SUD) Co-occurring disorders Inpatient psychiatric services Detox/residential behavioral health services Experience working with referral sources tied to Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and self-pay populations Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned territories Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills Proven ability to grow census and maintain long-term referral partnerships Experience utilizing CRM systems and outreach reporting tools preferred Compensation & Perks Competitive base salary: $80,000 - $110,000+ Full benefits package Mileage reimbursement Company-issued equipment Company card for travel, client lunches, entertainment, and marketing materials Strong leadership support and long-term growth opportunity Fully remote with ability to tour referral partners and families at the facility located in Middlepoint, OH Pay:
