Job Description

Seeking an Experienced Roofing Sales Representative - 1099 Independent Contractor | Commission-Based | Earning Potential $100k+ About the Role Dr. Roof is growing the Huntsville market and seeks a seasoned, entrepreneurial Roofing Sales Representative to generate business, inspect roofs, diagnose leaks, meet adjusters, and close replacement and repair work. This is a high-commission, 1099 opportunity for a self-starter who sells in the field: you get on roofs, create your own leads, and build a book of business. This role is ideal for a driven, field-focused seller with hands-on roofing experience - for example, a construction or roofing project manager, former roofing or exterior remodeling business owner, roofing crew leader, or a handyman specializing in exterior repairs (including roofing). You understand roof systems, can safely inspect and diagnose problems, have a history of closing jobs or running crews, and want independence with high earning potential while still enjoying operational and administrative support from an established team. What's in It for You True uncapped commission (typical plan ~9-11% of job revenue/gross margin; example: $135k revenue ~$12k/month at ~9%). Earning potential exceeds $100,000+ for motivated performers. (We already have a top-performer earning this in the market with plenty of room for growth.) Warm leads provided by Dr. Roof through digital marketing support (FB, PPC, LSA) and billboard presence. $500/month allowance for vehicle use; or wrapped company truck available for proven candidate Office space provided. Local training and support 2-3 days/week plus remote leadership. Regular team sales meetings. Access to estimating support, production handoff, and operations resources. Flexible schedule and independence.
Key Responsibilities Lead split:
about 50% company-provided leads and 50% salesperson-created leads through networking, referrals, door-knocking around warm leads, realtor/insurance relationships. You will be expected to match each company lead with at least one self-generated lead. Conduct roof inspections (residential & commercial), document findings, diagnose leaks and system failures; climb roofs safely. Meet with homeowners, property managers, and adjusters; prepare and present estimates and proposals. Perform minor roof repairs when appropriate; coordinate with production for replacements. Maintain accurate CRM records and follow-up cadence. KPIs / Performance Targets Leads per month: Work a minimum of 30 (about half provided by company, half self-generated). Close rate: target 30% ( 9-10 sales/month). Average ticket and margin-driven commission; goal alignment to reach six-figure earnings. Who You Are (Required) 7+ years selling (roofing, construction, restoration, or home improvement sales) with strong closing history. Comfortable and experienced going on roofs; can inspect and diagnose roofing issues. Impeccable communicator - proactive, transparent updates multiple times a day when needed. Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, willing to knock on doors from warm leads and expand pipelines. Attend networking meetings or opportunities (e.g., BNI, Chamber of Commerce, or similar groups).
Required for job purposes:
valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must maintain Workers' Compensation and General Liability insurance. Professional appearance and demeanor required. Able to work as a 1099 contractor. Preferred Existing local network (homeowners, realtors, property managers, insurance agents). Experience with insurance claims, storm damage, and adjuster meetings. Prior commission-based sales success. Culture and Support You won't be an island. We provide hands-on management support; our team delivers training without micromanaging, and is committed to helping you win business. Join sales meetings, access estimating and QC resources, and receive admin support for insurance-related work. Daily Life As our Roofing Sales Representative you create your own schedule, which includes field inspections, estimates, follow-ups, and lead generation. Expect a mix of remote work, in-field roofing inspections, adjuster meetings, and weekly team contact. If you're a proven closer, comfortable on roofs, and want independence with real upside and company support - we'd love to hear from you. Dr. Roof is an equal-opportunity employer.
