Job Description

Overview The Outside Residential Fence Sales Consultant is responsible for generating profitable fence sales across residential projects through in‑person consultations, solution-based selling, and consistent follow-up within the assigned Florida territory. The role combines company-provided warm leads with self-generated business and requires strong relationship-building skills, territory discipline, and a hunter mentality.​​ The ability to perform on-site and virtual appointments Employment Type & Compensation Engagement type: Independent Contractor (1099) 100% commission - Training Provided-$500.00
Weekly Draw Incentives:
Bonuses tied to sales volume, gross margin, and customer satisfaction (details defined in separate compensation plan)​ Reporting Structure Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Collaborates closely with: Sales & Permitting Coordinator, Operations, Scheduling​​ Territory & Travel Primary territory: Central Florida (e.g., Lake, Orange, Seminole, Volusia, and surrounding counties) Extended territory: Broader State of Florida as assigned or approved for strategic projects
Travel:
Daily travel to customer homes (Monday-Saturday 7-5 Fall/Winter - 8-8 Spring/Summer)​​ Performance Metrics & Expectations Minimum 150k per month expected after 90-day backlog acquisition period Key Responsibilities Sales & Customer Engagement Conduct in‑person consultations with residential prospects to assess fencing needs, measure job sites, and gather project details.​​ Present appropriate fence solutions (materials, layouts, gates, accessories) that align with code requirements, site conditions, and customer budget.​​ Prepare accurate, timely proposals and estimates using company-approved pricing tools and standards.​​ Negotiate scope and pricing within approved guidelines and close sales at or above target margins.​ Lead Management & Territory Development Run appointments from company-provided warm leads and respond quickly to all inbound opportunities.​​ Generate additional opportunities through grassroots efforts, including neighborhood canvassing, door hangers, yard sign follow-up, networking, and referral activities.​​ Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of residential prospects across Central Florida and, when assigned, the broader Florida market.​ Project Coordination & Customer Experience Document all key project details, measurements, photos, and customer preferences in the CRM and job file.​​ Collaborate with operations/installation teams to ensure job packets are accurate and buildable, minimizing change orders and rework.​​ Set clear expectations with customers regarding timelines, site preparation, and installation standards, and support timely resolution of issues in partnership with internal teams.​​ Compliance, Safety & Professionalism Maintain a professional appearance, clean vehicle, and respectful conduct always on customer properties and jobsites.​​ Adhere to all company safety rules and jobsite safety expectations; follow applicable state and local codes related to fencing.​ Observe equal opportunity, anti-discrimination, and non-harassment standards in all customer and team interactions.​ Core Competencies & Skills Technical & Sales Competencies Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to uncover needs, educate customers, and recommend appropriate fence solutions.​ Basic understanding of construction concepts, site conditions, and how grades, utilities, and property lines affect fence layout.​​ Comfortable with both residential homeowners.​​ Professional & Behavioral Competencies Hunter mentality with high self-motivation, resilience, and ownership of results.​​ Excellent communication, active listening, and negotiation skills.​ Strong time management, territory planning, and follow-up discipline.​
Tech-comfortable:
able to use CRM, estimating tools, email, text, and mobile apps in the field.​​ Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Valid Florida driver's license and reliable, insurable vehicle suitable for daily field use 2+ years of outside sales, construction/home-improvement sales, or closely related customer-facing experience preferred (will consider strong entry-level candidates with relevant traits)​​ Ability to work as a 1099 independent contractor, including managing own schedule, tax obligations, and basic business administration​ Preferred Experience in fencing, building materials, construction, or related trades Experience selling to residential homeowners​​ Bilingual English/Spanish (spoken and written) - Preferred Physical & Environmental Requirements Regularly required to stand, walk uneven ground, bend, reach, and measure property lines and fence runs in outdoor conditions.​​ Ability to lift 40-50 pounds occasionally (e.g., samples, small materials, tools).​ Work performed primarily in the field at customer locations and jobsites across Central Florida and other Florida markets as assigned.
