With a strong reputation for premium products and exceptional customer service, we are looking for a driven Outside Sales Representative who values relationships, professionalism, and long-term customer success over transactional sales. Job Description Berlin G. Myers Lumber Corp. is seeking an experienced and motivated Outside Sales Representative to develop and grow relationships within the residential construction and remodeling industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a relationship-driven sales environment, enjoys working independently, and has a strong understanding of residential construction products and estimating. The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for prospecting new business, maintaining existing customer relationships, and helping clients find the right solutions for their projects through knowledgeable consultation and outstanding service. Responsibilities
  • Develop new business relationships with builders, contractors, remodelers, architects, and homeowners
  • Maintain and grow existing customer accounts through exceptional service and follow-up
  • Conduct jobsite visits and client meetings to assess project needs
  • Prepare estimates, quotes, and material takeoffs
  • Recommend lumber, millwork, windows, doors, and specialty building products
  • Manage projects throughout the sales cycle from prospecting to close
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
  • Attend networking events and maintain visibility within the local building community
  • Track sales activity and maintain organized customer records Required Qualifications
  • Proven outside sales experience, preferably within the building materials or construction industry
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and territory effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented culture
  • Understanding of residential construction practices and materials
  • Ability to read blueprints and architectural drawings
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in lumber, millwork, windows/doors, or custom building materials sales
  • Knowledge of new construction and remodeling projects
  • Experience with blueprint estimating and takeoffs
  • Familiarity with custom moulding and millwork applications
  • Knowledge of ECI Spruce ERP system
  • Experience using Togal.
AI estimating software
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Previous experience working for a family-owned company or relationship-driven business

Pay:
$63,391.95 - $103,345.00 per year
