This role also serves as auditor, ensuring that units accurately match their respective purchase orders, are in expected and acceptable condition, and that proper procedures are followed to account for the outgoing shipment of goods by the organization. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments. Documents damaged shipments and corresponds with vendors in order to inform them of damages/shortages and return/replace items. Reports defective materials/units in questionable conditions to the department supervisor. Performs all computer/database functions necessary to track various aspects of goods received in a timely manner. Works closely with the Shipping Clerk to maintain inventory of shipping/receiving materials and supplies. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Carefully and accurately labels incoming items with correct barcode label stickers as defined by the paperwork and database. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse setting with exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Two to three years previous experience Additional Eligibility Qualifications None required for this position.
