This is primarily an inside sales position based in our Pflugerville showroom. Most customer interactions occur by phone, email, text, social media, and in person at our location. While occasional customer visits may occur, this is not an outside sales or territory management role. Our sales team works with homeowners, remodelers, handymen, contractors, and custom builders. We sell a variety of building materials including fencing, decking, flooring, moulding, timbers, siding, framing materials, and related supplies. The right candidate understands that successful sales are built through responsiveness, product knowledge, relationship development, and consistent follow-up—not simply answering the phone or waiting for customers to walk through the door. What You'll Do Respond quickly to inbound customer inquiries Build quotes and proposals for residential and commercial projects Follow up consistently to convert quotes into closed sales Develop long-term relationships with contractors, remodelers, handymen, and builders Identify opportunities to expand sales by recommending all products required to complete a project Utilize CRM tools to manage opportunities, customer information, and follow-up activities Create and maintain repeat business through exceptional communication and service Stay informed on product offerings, market trends, and vendor resources Prospect and develop new contractor relationships through phone, email, social media, and networking efforts What Success Looks Like Successful sales representatives in this role: Build strong relationships with customers who return again and again Follow up consistently and professionally Think in terms of complete projects rather than individual products Expand sales opportunities by identifying products customers may not realize we offer Stay organized and actively manage their pipeline Continuously improve their product knowledge and sales skills Create opportunities instead of waiting for them What We're Looking For Required Previous sales experience in building materials, construction products, lumber, decking, fencing, siding, flooring, millwork, roofing, hardware, or related industries Experience preparing quotes and managing multiple sales opportunities simultaneously Strong communication and relationship-building skills Comfort using CRM software and technology tools Ability to manage follow-up activities without constant supervision Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness Preferred Experience working with contractors, remodelers, custom builders, or trade professionals Experience selling multiple product categories rather than a single specialty line Familiarity with social media as a prospecting and customer communication tool Experience growing repeat business and customer accounts This Position Is NOT A Good Fit If You Prefer a pure outside sales role Prefer to focus on a single product category or specialty Rely solely on walk-in traffic or inbound phone calls for business Dislike CRM systems, follow-up activities, or pipeline management Prefer order-taking over relationship-based selling Why Join Us?
