Job Description
OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Territory:
Utah, Boise, and Las Vegas- Automotive Aftermarket Wholesale Accessories and Supplies
- Warehouse Distributor / Dealer Expediter
- Established and stable - over 75 years in business!
Responsibilities Product Knowledge:
We have an extensive product offering and the challenge is remembering what we have and the selling points of each line. Develop knowledge and expertise with both our business and your customer's so that you can offer them something special. Become a consultant.Accounts:
Systematically contact the Parts & Service Manager of each customer in your assigned geographical territory. Maintain good relationships with customers and potential customers. Take advantage of opportunities to get to know all of the employees at your customers and determine their purchasing functions. An inactive account may be reassigned at the company's discretion.Communication:
Report daily to Sales Manager by phone and stay current on company news. Participate in company discussion and provide feedback and surveys for management. Watch for indications that an account is in trouble or being sold. Cooperate with fellow Sales Reps by participating in all sales and training meetings and by giving assistance when requested. Keep informed of competitor's efforts, deals and new products and advise the Sales Manager.Sales:
Be at your first sales call by 8am, Monday through Friday, and work until 5pm. Review sales figures and set personal goals. Work to increase sales through training, penetration and perseverance. Strive to obtain entrance to the parts department, in order to check inventory and maintain stock, with the manager's permission. Make use of company promotions, samples and advertising. Manage waiting time productively.Service:
Handle complaints, obsolescence or warranty promptly. Provide retail area set up, reorganization, and stocking to make yourself more valuable to your customers. Develop relationships with bookkeepers to keep accounts current and to collect delinquent accounts. Train customers on how to better utilize or resell our products.Prospecting:
Allocate time each day for developing leads and opening new accounts. Know all the questions to ask and how to ask them. Ask for introductions and referrals. Keep records on items shown to prospects with their response. Monitor movements of Parts Managers in the territory to be aware of opportunities for yourself and coworkers. Be reliable and regular to earn and keep the trust of your accounts.Travel:
This job covers a large area. Expect a significant amount of daily driving in traffic. Relationships and Roles Report directly to the Sales Manager. Communicate with the Operations Manager regarding internal staff issues. Like all of our employees, Sales Representatives are expected to work cooperatively and professionally with all coworkers, as well as customers and vendors. Maintain a good personal appearance at all times; dress at least as professional as your customers. Maintain a reliable schedule; keep appointments and make only those commitments you can keep. Observe parking regulations at customer's place of business. Maintain friendly relationships with all employees, realizing that today's counterman or lot-boy may be tomorrow's parts manager or owner. Job Specifications Must possess 9 years of experience in the automotive sector or sales. Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers. Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver's license, insurance and a reliable car.Job Type:
