We support municipalities, contractors, engineers, and industrial customers throughout Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Wyoming. The Technical Inside Sales Representative plays an important role in supporting customers, outside sales personnel, vendors, and internal operations. This position requires strong communication skills, technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a technically-minded, self-motivated individual who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, and working through a variety of technical and operational challenges. This role requires someone who can think critically, communicate effectively, and adapt to both routine and non-routine situations. Primary Responsibilities Customer Support & Technical Sales Assist customers with the sizing, selection, quoting, and purchasing of water and wastewater pumps, motors, controls, wiring, and related accessories. Sales & Project Coordination Support outside sales personnel by coordinating schedules, customer communication, project follow-up, and administrative tasks. Coordinate product shipments and deliveries while evaluating approved shipping methods to ensure timely and cost-effective service. Work closely with vendors, customers, and internal personnel to help keep projects and orders moving efficiently. Receiving & Inventory Support Receive and process incoming shipments by verifying materials against packing slips and shipping documentation. Receive products into the accounting and inventory systems accurately and in a timely manner. Notify customers and team members regarding incoming materials, deliveries, or project-related items. Assist with periodic inventory counts and inventory organization to maintain accuracy between physical and system inventory. General Operations Support Assist with warehouse organization and cleanliness, including stocking inventory items in proper locations. Label, organize, and store customer or project-related materials appropriately. Help maintain clean and organized office, showroom, and warehouse areas. Assist with miscellaneous operational tasks as needed to support daily business activities. Administrative & Financial Support Receive and process customer payments through approved company procedures and payment methods. Prepare and process quotations, sales orders, and purchase orders to support customer projects and operational requirements. Provide responsive communication and follow-up with customers and vendors to ensure timely processing of orders and project needs. Research technical information using product literature, specifications, manuals, and manufacturer resources to identify appropriate solutions. Evaluate multiple options and recommend practical solutions for customer applications and project requirements. Maintain accurate records, quotations, and order documentation within company software systems. Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, and team members. Technically inclined with an interest or background in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related technical fields. Ability to size and select pumps, motors, wiring, controls, and related equipment for a wide variety of water and wastewater applications ranging from small systems to large-scale projects. Computer literate and comfortable learning and using multiple software programs, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office products, accounting software, and industry-specific sales and service applications. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and evaluate multiple solutions rather than relying solely on standard procedures. Resourceful and capable of researching technical information using manuals, specifications, product literature, and other reference materials. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate across departments. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills. Willingness to learn technical products, systems, and industry applications related to water and wastewater equipment. Prior experience in water/wastewater systems, pumps, motors, controls, electrical systems, industrial equipment, distribution, or related industries is preferred but not required depending on candidate background and aptitude. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree, technical training, or related industry experience is preferred. Experience in industrial sales, water/wastewater systems, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, or technical customer service is beneficial. Clean driving records and valid Utah driver's license Work Environment This position involves a combination of office, warehouse, and customer support responsibilities. Employees may occasionally lift and move products, assist with warehouse operations, and coordinate materials for customer orders and projects.
