Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for maximizing the sales opportunities in a defined geographical area for Bennett's Creek Wholesale Nursery. Emphasis on prospecting and establishing new business accounts in concert with the company's marketing strategy. Maintain a consistent relationship with current customers and continue to expand these customers by developing their needs around Bennett's Creek Nurseries' products. Promote and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and service.
Required qualifications include:
Experience in customer service and account management Knowledge of horticulture, agriculture, nursery operations, or related plant sciences Strong phone and email communication skills with the ability to build customer relationships Basic proficiency in order entry and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment in a fast-paced environment High school diploma or equivalent required; horticulture-related education or certifications preferred Prior nursery, farm, or landscape experience required
Essential Functions:
  • Meet with existing customers and recommend plant materials based on customer specific needs and interests.
  • Develop sales and secure new customer accounts.
  • Assist existing and prospective customers with questions regarding plant availability, as well as questions concerning size, price, water practices, disease problems, design ideas, growth habits and substitutions.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of plant material while continuing to educate customers on upcoming new material.
  • Make sure customers receive a catalog, plant availability, price terms/conditions, and tentative delivery dates as appropriate.
  • Handle customer inquiries, orders, and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Complete order forms and forward orders to the Shipping Coordinator.
  • Assist customers in setting up credit line applications and assist account management by encouraging customers to stay up to date on accounts.
  • Prepare and submit weekly sales activity reports.
  • Assist in forecasting sales in the assigned area.
  • Work as a team to meet sales goals
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Attend and participate in various trade shows as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean workspace
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Sales Manager, and or the President/CEO. Must be willing to work 8am-5pm Monday
  • Friday and alternating Saturdays during busy season April
  • May and October
  • November.
This is not a remote position.
