Serving this niche industry requires someone who understands the unique needs and motivations of maple syrup makers. We are seeking a hands-on, highly organized professional, with experience producing maple syrup and 3+ years of experience in a customer facing environment. Reporting directly to the sales manager, this professional maintains a positive attitude and outlook as they provide excellent customer service. Role Summary A Maple Specialist is an experienced sugar maker and a rooted member of the maple-producing community. Their role is to facilitate and support new maple producers and their equipment needs as they grow and learn maple syrup production. Key Responsibilities Sales
- Answer phones and assist customers with ordering and support questions.
- Communicate with other departments on special orders or requests to meet customer expectations.
- Work with the existing sales team to provide input and feedback on promotions and solutions. Customer Support / Technical
- Consistent and timely follow up on customer requests/ needs within our customer support portal.
- Strong communicator adept at aligning expectations and resolving disputes effectively. Order Prepping
- Pull, assemble, verify, and schedule orders for customer pickup.
- Report and troubleshoot product issues.
- Set pickup appointments and ensure proper items are prepared in advance by production if needed. Development
- Gain hands-on experience with Smoky Lake Maple equipment and build industry knowledge through workshops, open houses, and trade shows.
- Working across other departments on projects during the summer in preparation for peak volume. Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of experience in maple sugaring, sales, and customer support
- Computer Proficiency (Windows, Gmail, etc.)
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with equipment loading.
- Highly organized self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working directly with leadership in a collaborative, small-team environment. What Success Looks Like

Salary:
$60,000-$65,000 (depending on experience)
Winter Hours:
5-6 days in-person
Summer Hours:
4-day workweeks in the summer (Monday through Thursday)
