Job Description

Hi, I'm Steve, Sales Manager at Pete's Builders. Two years ago, I was making $38K managing a restaurant. Last year, I made six figures selling roofs. I'm not special — I just got handed a system that works, and now I'm hiring the next three people to hand it to. Here's why this sale is different: after a hailstorm, insurance pays for the roof. The homeowner pays their deductible. You're not asking anyone to spend $18,000 — you're helping them collect on a policy they already pay for. Last summer's hail in Cheyenne, WY, left thousands of damaged roofs in our service area. Most homeowners don't even know they qualify. That's the job. The money (real numbers, not hype): Average commission: $1,800+ per job First-year reps typically earn $45K-$70K Average rep here: $72K .
Top rep last year:
$156K Open books — at your interview, we'll show you actual commission statements What we provide: Company-generated leads (storm data + canvassing support — you're not cold-calling a phone book) Company truck or vehicle allowance + gas card Paid 2-week training — insurance claims, adjuster meetings, and roof inspections. No experience required. W-2 employment (on base and draw plans), health benefits eligibility A sales manager who walks your first roofs and your first adjuster meetings with you Who we hire: No roofing experience needed — we teach the roof, you bring the work ethic.
Our best reps came from:
Serving and bartending (you already handle rejection and read people) Retail and customer service Military (show up, follow the process, win) College athletics and coaching Where this goes: Rep → Senior Rep (higher commission tier, ~12 months) → Team Lead with overrides → Sales Manager. Our current managers all started on the doors. "What about winter?" Fair question — ask it in the interview, because most companies dodge it. Storm season (April-September) is when the big checks come in, but October-March, we run gutters, interior/water-damage work, and a retail re-roof division. Our reps earn year-round, and reps on the draw plan have income smoothing built in.
The ask:
Knock on doors, inspect roofs (we train you, including the ladder part), meet with insurance adjusters, and walk homeowners through their claims. Evenings and Saturdays during storm season. It's real work. It pays like it.
How to apply:
No resume. No cover letter. Apply here with your name and a one-line explanation of why you're a fit. You'll hear back within 24 hours. $1,000 referral bonus if you bring a friend who makes it past 90 days.
Pay:
$45,489.38 - $178,868.93 per year
Benefits:
Cell phone reimbursement Company car Paid training
Work Location:
In person
